You didn't ruin your so-called diet but you ARE ruining your health. Eating only 500 calories will put you into starvation mode, slowing your metabolism possibly permanently, setting you up for a lifetime of weight issues.

The absolute minimum number of calories required for a woman is 1200. Anything below that is not healthy. Your diet should also include adequate amounts of chicken/fish/beef as well as vegetables and fruit to insure proper nutrition. Anything less than 5-6 servings of vegetables and fruits is not enough and you said you ate only chicken and rice.

Please don't get yourself sick. Losing quickly on a fad diet is very unhealthy.

Your diet is only ruined if you give up and binge. By itself, a little chicken and rice won't kill you.

One thing you should consider is whether the reason you ate this is because your body was craving it. Sometimes cravings are your body's way of saying "I need nutrients!". After all, you didn't step off your diet for emotional comfort food like chocolate or chips. Perhaps your diet is a little lacking in some nutritional aspect.

1000 calories a day isn't a diet, it's an eating disorder. You burn at least half that again simply by living. You ruined nothing by eating more. If you want to lose weight, you should eat 1800 calories a day. Far safer.

Chicken and rice is a pretty clean meal, but what will ruin your diet is your slow metabolism as a result of only eating 500 calories in one day.

Keep in mind that your body needs a certain amount of calories in order to maintain normal bodily functions. If you're only consuming 500 calories, your body might go into starvation mode and actually store fat. This all depends on your resting metabolism. The below link should be able to answer all of your questions.

eating too much or whatever food your diet doesn't allow for ONE day a week is NOT going to ruin your results. it takes a whole week or two of eating badly to ruin your results so don't worry about this one little time. just get right back on track and try not to do it again. you don't even have to worry about doing extra exercise just to burn it off. your body can handle it, its ok.

Good lord NO!!! I Literally just wrote this response so I will repost it here for your benifit. you are eating too little and will not loose weight!!!

so here is what I just wrote

"What you are doing is incredibly unhealthy. you are eating too few calories and your body has entered what is called starvation mode and you will not loose weight. too few calories makes your body hold on to what it has not wanting to let go of the fat. you need to create a deficete of calories, 400- 500 a day with diet and excercise. adding muscle will help too. 10 lbs of pure lean muscle burns inactively 62 lbs of calories a year, but you have to maintain that.
anyway, it takes time, plus, with two few calories, when you go off the diet, you will gain a lot quickly. so CHANGE NOW!!

go to this website -http://www.freedieting.com/tools/ideal_b...
and calculate your ideal body weight, (it is an estimate) then take that number and go to this website
http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie...
(same site different areas of it) and enter your ideal weight and there will be two calorie intake suggestions, one for fat loss and one for extreme fat loss, use the one for fat loss 2 lbs a week because it is healthier.

follow this, excercise, eating that little is SLOWLY STARVING YOU TO DEATH! and it is not healthy and is setting you up for failure, please change for your own sake"

dude u only ate 500 cals. today that not good no matter what the food is... all these trends are stupid just eat light healthy foods and heavier foods in moderation, exercise daily to bi-daily and you should be good dont starve your self the only thing you should ask yourself is how you feel about yourself. you need to see a specialist and explan you daily experience and they would be able to map out a daily chart... example: a football player doesn't eat like a dancer.... peace out

That is fine, you should eat more than 500 calories a day.

no, rice and chicken is fine as long as it was chicken breast. this is a completely healthy diet. don't go over the top with the calorie intake. it's not accurate as you think it is. just a guide.
