Everyone is right except yahood. Yahood brother, Islam is not limited to the Arabic language.

In Arabic it is called masjid. The word mosque was likely derived from the French word mosquee.

A mosque is to Islam what a church is to Christianity, and what a temple/synagogue is to Judaism. It is a place of worship.

Jews go to temple.
Muslims go to a Mosque.
