Do you really think that the only ones who feel anything are NonMuslims who are American? Doesn't matter who you are or where you were born, if you are human and have a soul, the suffering of others hurts you. Along with those who were hurting on 9-11 who were not Muslim, so were Muslims. We all did. When will you let go of your hatred and accept the compassion that those of us on here are trying to show? It doesn't matter who you are, when a loved one dies, you are affected.

I thank American Muslimah for the custom avatar picture she created as a memorial to the victims. Whatever your religion, you have the compassion of people who honestly care about you. If you were in danger and I could stop it, knowing very well I could die in saving you, I would gladly do it. Muslims and NonMuslims alike would, if they had any ounce of humanity in them.

Are you able to understand what I am trying to say?

When did I blow up a plane or a building? If I did, I'd be dead. If I poisoned my neighbors, they'd be dead and I'd be in prison, and we wouldn't be giving each other baked goodies often or spending time with each other. If I thought a woman was property, I wouldn't have a new computer all to myself and my husband would be doing nothing while I slaved away. As it stands, I know my right.s

It's a pity that even in this time, when so many people are hurting, heartless people like to say that what 19 people did means all 1.9 billion people would do it. It shows the lack of education and compassion.

I know what you mean. I've said on here a number of times that people need to give it up. It wasn't all muslims who are doing these things, it's a small group. Most that I have met have been very loving and kind and only want to help others. I have quite a few friends who are Muslim, and I love them.

I had a cousin who died in the 9-11 attacks, and even so, I don't hate the people who did it. Yes, I'm sad that it happened, but not everyone who was Muslim sat down and planned it out. It was only a few out of a whole religion!!

I don't think that a lot of people think about the fact that there were Muslims in the world trade center when it was attacked. Or when the bombs went off in the subway in England, or any other terrorist attack in the middle east lately. There are so many people who are being hurt by these few people, not just us pure bred americans.

You are right. We all just need to start understanding each other, and feeling love for each other instead of trying to rip each other apart. Our lives would be much happier for it.

Do the people who respond not know that Jews, Christians, and Muslims historically worship the same God! Therefore there is some hope that IF violence were replaced by peace and communication the true nature of God could be found. And I predict that would be a God of peace and compassion not a God of hate and violence.

In some sense we seek what reflects our inner nature. Some even have crucified and tortured people in the name of Christ who when he was tortured and crucified prayed for forgiveness for those who "did not know what they were doing".

Civilized people need to put violent people in prison not make heroes or martyrs out of them.

Warning: The link below is to Saddam being hung and should be graphically offensive to sensitive people.

Very well put. Not all of us feel this way, but you have to understand that we were violated once and the perpetrators lived within us for two to three years. Heck we even educated them on flying airplanes. So for Americans to be a little gun shy towards the Muslims that are here should be understandable. Maybe not right but understandable. If it happens again by the same people then we are the fools. I feel for you and many of your mistreated friends, but I also understand how Americans feel and it is hard for them to forgive this quickly especially when there is constant talks of another attack. GOD BLESS & GOOD LUCK

My dear I know you hurt.
The entire world hurts.
I'd say the price paid by Muslims are disproportional to the crime.
Then again I'm a pacifist that can't justify war for any cause.
It's all a pity it's all pain and the sad truth is that justice doesn't exist on earth, so knowing this one must admit that something has to be there and the only thing that heals is unconditional love. Such love is the only miracle and our only evidence of God.

I pray with tears and anguish that tomorrow will be a day of healing.

I have no problem with Muslim I have a problem with fantical fundementalists who would kill in the name of God. I have a problem with the people who send money to people who teach this to poor children who have nothing and to be fed that day they have to listen to hate speach.
I have a problem with that, with any religion, and Christians and Muslims are the main problem.
I have a bigger problem with the silence.
I am very glad that you have spoken up. I wish we had a news media that reported the truth and gave air time to the millions of people who are not fanatics. That goes for the thousands and thousands of Christian and Muslim congregations of people who love there neighbors and love peace.

The ROOT of the problem is poverty and that is when fanatics get a voice.

I believe it was the philosopher Spinoza who said that when a man is hurt by a foreigner, he blames all foreigners. That is some truth to it, but that thinking is more prevalent in the United States than elsewhere. Part of it is based on the old racist mentality that "n*****s" should control their own. So, if one black man was misbehaving, it was incumbent on other Blacks to stop him. That mentality is now being applied on Muslims, who are seen as foreigners and "sand n*****s." If Muslims don't control their "terrorists" then, as per this mentality, they should face the brunt of imposed collective guilt and be ready to face consequences. Internment camps are never far from their list of options.

They want you to keep apologizing. That kills two birds with one stone: 1). it puts Muslims on the defensive, which obviates the need to discuss core political issues. 2). It allows them to 'hire' Muslims, without paying a dime, to do their policing. Each Muslim becomes his brother's keeper, so to speak.

Unfortunately, most moderate muslims are on the receiving end of a lot of bad publicity on account of an extremely vocal group more hard-line muslims. I sympathize with your point of view...

However, a few weeks ago, I saw a video of a young woman being stoned to death by her own family while a large crowd of people, including police officers, stood and by and watched and did nothing to stop them. It took 30 terrifying minutes for D'ua Khalil Aswad to die for the crime of not comming home one night, and her story is far from unique.

I try very hard to be temperate in my feelings toward other religions, but I do not understand why so many of the world's population would worship a bloodthirsty demon that demands the lives of their daughters for the faintest perception of impropriety.

(Yes, I know that many muslims would not consider Yazidis muslims, but then again, Sunni and Shi'ite do not consider each other muslims either, so it is a moot point)

I understand -- It was EXTREMISTS who murdered the victims of 9-11, NOT the average Muslims.

Many people also forget that there were Muslims among the victims, not just Christians and Jews (as well as other faiths)

I will be saying prayers for ALL the victims tomorrow...

Yes, of course. There are billions of Muslims in the world, and most of them are good people who wish no harm to anyone. Some think of Islam as a monolithic religion, all thinking alike, but this is far from the case.
