In New York City in the WORST of summer, it CAN reach upwards to 104 degrees but that is VERY RARE... Usually it ranges between 80-95 degrees in July and August but in Early September it's anywhere between 65 and 80 degrees.. It gets VERY HUMID at times too which will make it feel that much hotter---I live 178 miles NORTH of New York City and on LAST FRIDAY it was 94 DEGREES and EXTREMELY HUMID--but that's rare for September... The best weather in New York City is around the END of September before the October chills get too bad... the colors in Central Park are WONDERFUL... Up here where I live (just south of the Adirondack Mts. near Lake George, it is raining at the moment and about 65 degrees... but normally it is sunny and around 75-80 this time of year.... fall up here is even MORE spectacular then it is in NYC.... oh and smog in NYC is NOT all that bad--only during really humid days---0therwise in the bright sunshine, it's beautiful.---NO smog at ALL up here where I live though.
