Well I got the momma cat a week b4 she gave birth. She was infested with fleas. I got the expensive kind of flea medicince from the vet (some kind of frontiline) and the fleas were gone in 2 days. But the kittens are now 4 weeks old and infested with fleas. I have picked as many off as I can but it doesnt seem to be doing much. I know you cant use flea medicine directly o them and I am pretty sure you can use some kind of flea shampoo in the bath. But if i were to just give them a bath and try to srub some fleas off, will the momma do anything? Cuz i know there is something about the scent and wouldnt bathing them get rid of the scent? Is there any other way to get rid of the fleas on them? Like I said they are only 4 weeks old and I dont want to do anything to harm them. and in a general question, one of the kittens steped in the momma poop cuz the kitten jumped in the litter box and of course had to step in the 1 pile of poop. Could I wash her feet in a bath?

I have had fair luck with bathing them in warm water and baby shampoo just very light on the shampoo. the fleas won't like the water and the shampoo will clean of the eggs.

At 4 weeks, its probably best not to bathe them or use any flea treatments.

Use a fine-toothed flea comb on the kittens (and the mama) and drown any fleas you find in a jar of soapy water.

Wash all their bedding, and vacuum your carpets very thoroughly. Make sure to take the vacuum bag to the outside trash right away as the fleas can just crawl right back out of the vacuum (or even breed in the bag).

Oh, and it's okay to wash poop off the kitten's feet!

Good luck!

This is absolutely deja vu, i found two kittens yesterday and the first thing i did was take them to the vet. They seemed perfectly normal, but they both had upper respiratory infections and infected eyes. The vet gave me antibiotics for them. Also, they were infested with fleas, but the vet gave them a bath. They are still too young to be given any sort of product, so i recommend taking them to the vet. The kitten may also have worms, so that would be a perfect opportunity to get them de-wormed. Good luck.
