A data table is a list of data, usually of 2 different dimensions like time and temperature, or volts and amps, or time and distance, etc.

In the time and temperature data table, you would write down times in one column and the temperature in the column next to it -- like this:

Time ..... High temperature of the day
------ ......-----------------------
9/1/07 ... 85 (degrees)
9/2/07 ... 86
9/3/07 ... 80
9/4/07 ... 77
9/5/07 ... 85
9/6/07 ... 80
9/7/07 ... 75

That is a data table.
