where do you find a bank id number on your cheque ?

It is usually found at the bottom of your check.

The type of "routing number", as it is called,
depends on the country it is in
(e.g., the US uses the ABA routing number).

Of course, the easiest way to find out is to ask your bank.

You need to get an ATM card from Scotia. Use it just like a local ATM.

the bank id is a three digit number, for scotiabank it should be 002, this would be the same for all the checks in your checkbook. the three digit number that changes is the check number, the five digit number is your branch or transit number
