It seems like every book and show has the "hero" be a former/current Marine or Seal. ;) If they're not the best, then who is...Other then God. ;)

Depends on the mission, if you need to take a beach I will say the Marines are the guys to call. Need to take an airfield call the Army Rangers, or Paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne. Need to train a guerrilla force, get a SF team in there. At what they do the Marines are great but they are not the best for every type of mission.

Wally T is an ignorant dolt. I have been US Marine for 18 years, 15 of them as a commissioned officer. During my time in the Corps, I have achieved a law degree and a doctorate degree. Those like Wally T who say Marines or anyone in the military is stupid ,dumb, or otherwise mentally challenged, are people who didn't have what it takes to wear the uniform of this country in the first place. As far as who's the best... we all are, everyone in the military. we have different missions according to our branch of service and ea ch mission complements the other.

Marines fight in numbers while seals do small teams but crazy ****.

hahahaha no I shouldnt laugh; Marines definetly pride themselves on having the toughest physical fitness standards of any other branch, and they do tend to go in the more dangerous areas with little or no support - does this make them the best? Its a tough call considering they are issued the most outdated gear; and I know nothing of their MI fields (if they exist) but pejoratively speaking Ive never met one whose impressed me with their wit - All that being said, from my experiences they are the most physically fit, daring and albeit they have more pride in their service then Ive seen from all the other branches. But still you can be strong .......or you can be ARMY strong hahahaha

Maybe in the Untied States, they are good, but not in the whole world. Almost every Allied country has their own "elite" light infantry.
