You didn't say what type of job so for dress hard to say. Dress appropriately for the environment. If it is an office - a suit is appropriate. If it is a retail store - clothes in the same style as the other employees makes sense. Be clean and neat.
As for some suggestions, don't be prepared to ONLY answer questions. Have questions of your own. (A good one, "What is the career path to management?") The best interviewees ask questions and engage the interviewer. Be positive and upbeat. Prove yourself with your personality.

Hello! I guess you have a case of the interview jitters! That's ok we have all had them. Since you have an interview at a grocery store it is imperitive that you dress nice but at the same time you do not want to over do it. My suggestion would be to wear a pair of khaki's with a nice button up shirt. It would be a good idea to wear either a brown belt with a pair of brown dress shoes (Perferably closed toe it is a grocery store) or a black belt with black shoes. As far as the rest of grooming just go with the same look you might wear to church.
For things on what to say, just be honest. A good manager can usually spy out the applicants that are either lying or pretending. It is perfectly ok to be nervous and your prospective employer will know this so don't fret that part to much. Also the standard questions that are asked are usually like: So what makes you want to work here at (insert grocery name here)? Or: What reasons do you think that you should get the job? And: What qualities do you posses that would make you a good employee to the company as a whole? This questions may seem intimidating at first but just break them down as much as possible and answer each part one at a time. It will also be a good idea to be expecting questions around this type and to have answers already prepared before the interview. Believe it or not this helps with nervousness because it doesn't put you on the spot. I hope what I have said has made you feel better and I wish you good luck!!

Dress nicely, and conservatively, nice pants suit, or even a dress. Dressing up, even if no one in the grocery store is dressed up will impress a potential employer that you cared enough about the job to take some time and look good. Arrive a few minutes early, not real early, but never be late. Bring a pen if you need to fill out more paperwork. Have a list already made of references if you are asked. If you appear organized and prepared, this is a plus too. Look your interviewer in the eye. Try not to appear nervous. Don't worry if you don't know the answer to a question, say so, but indicate you are willing to learn, and look the interviewer in the eye too if you don't have an answer. If you are confused about a question, ask for the question to be repeated. Don't chatter away about silly stuff. Initially there may be a few minutes of small talk, but don't ramble on and on. If you don't know anything about the grocery store, go on line and visit their website. Even if you are not the most qualified applicant, a positive attitude and outlook can get you the job. I have interviewed many people to hire, this is what I look for in a potential employee. Good luck.

Well since it is at a grocery store you don't have to get too dressed up. I would wear a nice pair of khakis or black pants OR a nice skirt. Just not a short skirt. Around the knees would be fine. Even a denim skirt would be okay as long as it is longer and dark denim. Pair it with a nice top that isn't too baggy or too tight. It shouldn't be low cut either. A solid color would be best but if it has designs that's okay. Just no band t-shirts or something that says ANGEL or something like. As for shoes, nice scandals or dress shoes.
When they ask you questions, just smile and be honest and polite but friendly. Make a joke if it seems appropriate. They are really going to be looking for someone who is friendly and who will get a long well with customers and be able to make small talk with customers.
Don't say anything bad about past employers or co-workers.
How old are you? Are you entering college or are you in high school? They might ask you questions about your plans for the future or your education if you are young. Just be honest.
I worked in a fast food resturant all through college and we always looked for people who were clean, friendly, polite, honest and seemed like they would get along with other people.
One time we had a girl come dressed in a Hooters uniform for an interview, but thats another story.
Just remember, that the person interviewing you isn't trying to trick you up or make you feel nervous. They just want to get to know you better.
And don't be nervous, the worst thing that can happen is that they don't hire you, and hey, there are lots of stores and resturants you could apply at if that happens.
Good luck! Hopes this helps!
And if you wouldn't mind checking out some of my questions, I'd appreciate it.

wear something conservative. Jeans are okay if you wear a nice top, like a shirt, or blouse, and wear closed toe shoes. Make sure you look clean (hair, face, nails, clothes). Maybe pull your hair back.
Tell them that you want the job because you always take responsibility for your life and earning some income will help you be more independent. If they ask "why they should hire you?" Tell them you are honest hard working and have a lot of integrity, tell them you take responsibilty for your own actions and always make an effort to do the best you can.
You could also say that you were looking at a job in another grocery but this apealled more because they have a nicer store and merchandise their product better, and that their produce is of a very high quality.
good luck

I am in healthcare recruitment now for 10 years. First impressions are huge, so dress for success and you will get the most respect and a larger salary. Do not say anything negative about yourself or past employers. Be ready to answer questions as to why you wish to have this job, why are you interviewing, why you are the best candidate, what are your goals, both short term and long term.

Dress conservatively. Don't wear anything sexy or revealing. A nice pants and shirt would be fine. Be prepared to answer questions about why you want to work there, what experience you have, what you would do if you saw a customer or co-worker stealing, how you would handle an angry customer, etc.

Don't wear jeans or flip flops - wear either nice pants or a skirt. Look them in the eye, smile, and answer their questions honestly.
Good luck.

Hi, don't wear anything dirty. Don't wear anything sexy or outrageous, don't chew gum, speak well and be pleasant. Basically, just dress somewhat conservatively and project a positive, can do attitude. Just use your intelligence and all will go well. GOOOOOD LUUUUUUCCKK!!!!!!

Wear a nice pair of pants, a conservative shirt (blouse), dress shoes, conservative make-up and do something nice with your hair. Get a haircut if you need one.
