The last 3 days or so, My 2 year old, has been insisting that he go pee in the big boy potty.. Which I am ECSTATIC about, Well, I had put a diaper on him, so he could take his nap, And he peed in it, and them started screaming bloody murder, grabbing his crotch area, saying ouchie, ouchie...So I took his diaper off, and he had peed in it.
My question is, Do you think it's his actual pp that hurts? Or just that he didn't want to have the wet diaper on? His pp isn't red, and doesn't have any unusual bumps or anything, But he was very cautious when he sat down on my lap (after getting his diaper off and being put back into underwear) like maybe it was sore? I wouldn't be concerned, But he's uncircumcised, and I've heard it's caused problems and later they have to be circumcised?

Any help? Please?

I'm going to make him a doctors appt. tomorrow regardless...But, Just wanting some parent to parent advice and/or info beforehand. :)

As a heads up, if the foreskin does not easily pull up, do not try to pull it up. That will cause problems later in life. Newborns and toddlers usually have their foreskin attached to the head to prevent it from getting the head dirty If the foreskin caused problems the USA wouldn't be the last developed nation circumcising; nor would our rates be falling to as low as 14% in some states compared to being over 90% in the 1960s. =). To be honest, he sounds fine. If there was an infection he would've signaled pain when you touched it or anything. At worst, it could be a UTI, but that's only if it continues happening when he pees. Chances are that there was old/dried urine in his pee line that caused a bit of a blockage and discomfort happened when urine pushed it out.

Congratulations for not circumcising him. I don't know where you live, but in the USA they often try to convince you circumcision is necessary for medical reasons, when it's not. Babies in all the non-circumcising countries like the UK are doing fine. Also, ignore the information above, you definitely don't need to clean under the foreskin, at age 2 it probably isn't even retractable yet, and pulling it back could injure your son.

I would say see what the doctor says, if it is a UTI it is probably easily treatable with antibiotics or such. I had them as a kid (but I'm a girl) and on my (medically trained) parents' advice I always managed to treat them myself within a couple of days by drinking loads of water and even cranberry juice. Has he complained of pain any more or while urinating since that incident? Maybe he just made a fuss because he didn't want the diaper.

wow you have to quit the manage problem first! Sorry however your child isn't going to wish to do it if you are making them like that. Potty coaching must be a pleasant factor now not anything rushed and pressured to do.. Here are a few very useful pointers a million. Set a timer Like a type of egg timers or anything make a gigantic deal of it "OK its time to set the timer! Do you wish to do it?" Let him set it and be optimistic approximately it.. Make definite you give an explanation for that whenever this is going off we have to attempt to cross potty. two. When he does cross potty do not simply blow it off be completely satisfied, do a he did it dance. Make it a a laugh factor three. have a decal chart if he is going he will get one whilst he has 10 then he will get to visit the shop and select out a toy below five$ All those matters will aid however consider he's simplest two! he wont get it immediately! AND IT WILL TAKE TIME!!! If he's four and nonetheless having crisis then i could fear!

'I can't believe the idiot that posted above. "circumcise" a two year old because he "might" get infections? I know one thing he will get for sure is terrified! Girls get ten times as many UTIs, what part would she have cut off of them?

A complete (non-circumcised) penis is less prone to infections and easier to clean than the genitals of a girl.

There are "problems" later only if there is an incompetent "doctor", if a "doctor" says "circumcision" is necessary, GET ANOTHER DOCTOR. Only doctors in the US push "circumcision" for every problem with a penis. Just like some push hysterectomies for every female problem.

They don't care about the patent only the payment.

Does a boy "need" circumcision" for hygiene? Will your son be too stupid to wash his penis? It takes 5 seconds in the shower. How difficult is that?

Pull back the fore skin and look for infection under there. If its hurting after he pees it could be an external infection, if it hurts when he pees its probably a bladder infection.

The doctors appointment might be a good idea just to rule out infection entirely.

maybe he was just uncomfortable with the diaper on but I wouldn't know cuz I have no boys the only boy that i have is only one month old but my mother-in-law, she works as a pathology assistant, tells me that it would be best to get him circumsized it will reduce the chances of him getting an infection. But my thought is that maybe he was uncomfortable but yeah take him to the doctor that would be best!
