Hi,
I am hard of hearing and wear two hearing as well and I am in a relationship with my boyfriend of nearly 2 years and planning a wedding.
So .. no hearing aids and a hearing loss don't affect your chances of having a relationship.
Disability is not the end of the world - sadly we can't change it as it who we are, but we can embrace it and accept who we are.
Chances are your friend is lacking self confidence and this is why he missing the chances of having a partner as confidence is sexy in anyone.
Having a hearing loss is not the end of the world - I have had loads of boyfriends in my lifetime whom have been hearing and my hearing loss never been an issue.
He just needs to get out there and stop using his hearing loss as an excuse.
It who you are not what you are that matters!

Wouldn't think twice about it. I think though that he has the advantage over most men - when the gf is nagging, he can pop them out! Personally, I would be stealing the hearing aids just to give him a wind up and make him do all sorts of things to get them back....oh yeah, there's nothing wrong with that!! Your friend needs to stop finding excuses and get this backside onto a decent dating site and start having fun. No-one in their right mind would give a hoot if he is hot and funny.

That's like asking would you date someone who wore glasses! There is no reason that hearing aids would be a deterrent, especially as they can be hardly visible these days. However if he's using it as an excuse and banging on about it then that'll be off putting. My father wears a hearing aid (the other ear's totally shot) and the way he talks to people because he's decided he can't hear them right is downright rude and nasty sometimes. Same as I'd never draw attention to my glasses, why draw attention to his aids? Who cares?

There's no doubt that people are prejudiced against those with a hearing impairment. It could be why he hasn't a girlfriend. Mind you, it could be because he's a lousy lay.

whats wrong with hearing aids, it shows a woman that, with them he can hear, so he has no excuse if he's not listening!

A relationship is not based on a simple disability. The fact that you would even ask such a question, tells me you are in no way mature enough to have a relationship. Just stick to dating and leave relationships alone.
