I'd hate to think my generation went through all that bother to stage The Sexual Revolution for NOTHING! lol Seriously, it's the 21st Century...women should be able to ask men out whenever they want. They should just try REALLY hard not to look "desperate", since it's a definite turn-off for most men! It is for women too, but I don't think they consider that 'til some desperate guy starts clinging to them!

Unfortunately, it is still this way (in the majority of situations).
Women believe in equality and independence but still believe it is the guy's role to ask them out.
For a shy guy like me, that is problematic. I don't know how to tell if a woman is interested so I don't go on many dates.
Any women out there brave enough to ask me out? :)

If he isn't asking you he's probably not interested. No offense but it seems that the girls who do ask are the ones that no one is asking them. It's embarrassing to have to tell a girl that you're not interested...because they call the guy a jerk. That's so not fair.
It's not about the "chasing" thing either. Guys don't like to chase we like to ask a girl out that we like. If she's not interested, what is there to chase?

No but I wish it still was that way. Girls are now asking out because we hate waiting.
