and 3 sets 2 days a week? I am pressed for time on mondays

Yes, you can get decent workouts if you do weights at least three times a week. No harm in doing less on Mondays as long as you don't ignore the workout altogether. The key is not to go more than 72 hours without a workout. If you do, you'll start to lose that muscle tone and additional strength you've been working so hard to get. So stick with your routine for now, and if you hit a plateau you'll probably need to change your workout a little. Lots of good info on workouts on the Discussion boards at both the Mens Health and the Womens Health websites.

not really. the intensity of training should dictate the frequency of training. light weights = low intensity so you would really need to workout every day or every other day for any amount of measurable results.

not quite sure why you would be using light weights unless you are recovering from injury. the loads that you use to stimulate the muscles does not dictate the size of them, the diet does. you don't want to increase muscle mass, then don't have a caloric excess in the diet.
