Crate training is a very effective way to housebreak your pup. Make sure the crate isn't to big so as not to give it room to find a spot to go. Dogs won't pee or poop where they sleep or eat. Take your pup outside often. Only reprimand the pup when you catch him in the act!!!! A good reprimand is a very stern NO and then Outside as your taking him out the door. Good luck.

First, how old is the pup? Any puppy has to "Go" within minutes of eating. They have a very small system so if the pup eats at 7am by 7:05 you better have it outside.

I breed Corgi's and house break every litter starting at 5 weeks old and they are house broken by 7 weeks. It's very easy but as the person you got this pup from didn't give a flip about the new owner, you have to deal with it.

Like I said, get the pup outside right after it eats. Use the same door every time you take it outside to "Go". You'll notice that the pup will go to the same area every time to sniff. You will say, "Hurry up" in a very happy voice. Say this only when you want the pup to "Go", that means peeing also. Within a week or 2 you'll notice that the pup will "Go" on command. Keep the pup outside till it does "Go". Then praise the pup, not with a treat but get excited and happy. The pup will learn this routine and will be happy to please you.

Remember, it will take time and you have to be consistant or the pup will not know what you want from it.

when you see the puppy in the act you pick them up and put them out when they go potty outside you let them know what a good puppy they are.
when cleaning up the carpet after them you need to use vinger
so they can not smell where they went, this helps them not using that same place again.

You could crate train the dog, and teach the dog to go outside.. Make sure you have had him tested for worms and parasites.. Feeding good food.. Or your work will be for nothing.. If he can't hold it, then he is going to crap all over the house..

with your puppy you have to take him/her out like every hour, after they eat, take them out within 15 mins. Take him/her to a certain area in the yard where you would lik them to do thier business.

They also have stuff at the pet stores, ex. pet co, petsmart etc.
called wee wee, you spray it in the area you would like your dog to go, and there is a certain scent in there that makes them want to go in that one area.

Good luck

I know this isn't nice but if all else fails you need to stick his nose in it and say bad dog and put it outside to clean up. Once it starts it's hard to stop it.

Well you have to train him to go to a certain spot and give him/her a key word that he/or she might understand when its time to go to the bathroom!
