Genesis 1 In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens & the earth.

John1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made b Him...

So, these verses prove that the Mormons, the Jehovah witnesses & the Muslims have a different Jesus than the Jesus Christ of Nazareth of the Gospels.

B Jesus came to earth as the 'Only Begotton' Son of the Living God. When doubting Thomas felt the nail scars & side, he fell on his knees & said, "My Lord & my God.". Jesus didn't say He wasn't . He said, "Blessed are you Thomas, for you have seen & believed. More blessed are those who haven't seen & have believed.".

Jesus Christ Is Good. Remember? He raised from the dead. Sin couldn't keep Him in the grave. So? Jesus was without sin. That means Jesus Is Good. And God is Good all the time.

god brotherers mute, The first verse could be God created the heavens and the earths. So? That isn't a difference between Genesis 1&2 though.

Alan, I believe the bible, the OT & NT. It is either true or a lie. The Holy Spirit confirms to me in my spiritman, that John is a true Gospel & written by John the Disciple himself. If you deny, it, then your Jesus is a different Jesus than the Gospel Jesus of who the Gospels write about.

Like the JW who still denies Jesus as Creator in the beginning with God the Father & Holy Spirit. If you create with the fullness of God, you are Creator with God. To me Elohim is Father, Word & Holy Spirit. The Word came to earth & dwelt among us as the Son of God/Man.

Pinkadot, Mormons believe Jesus was brothers with Lucifer. That they were first born spirit children of Father God. That isn't a biblical belief of who Jesus Is. Jesus (as the Word of God) is in the beginning with God & is God. Without Jesus, nothing would have been created. Creator God Is God the Father, Word & Holy Spirit (1Jn5) 3 that bear witness in heaven, the Father, Word & Holy Spirit and these 3 are 1.

You might be right -- even about the last point. However, few religious people today know their religious roots. I believe that Jesus is the Word (or we might as well say the mouthpiece, agent or representative) of God. He always denied being God (Elohim/Allah). He always said that he was the Lord (Jehovah, the son of Elohim) -- a divine being, but not the one who is our father in heaven. If this were not so, then there would be no mediation. There would be nobody to plead our cause to. He would not have been able to forgive our sins, paying their price for us, so that Elohim could say to him, rest here until I put all your enemies under your feet (or words to that effect). Jehovah is the God of Israel. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However, from a Christian perspective, we do not need the Aaronic High Priest to be an intermediary between ourselves and Jehovah any longer; theoretically a holier state or mode of worship is now possible, in which Jehovah is our intermediary with the Father. That's a good thing, too, since there is no Aaronic High Priest today. That authority has apparently been lost to the world, unless the latter-day restoration has already taken place. Note that Abraham served Jehovah. Note as well that Melchizedek served God Most High. Abraham recognized Melchizedek as his religious superior (or at least as having a religion at least as valid as his own) and paid his tithing to Melchizedek, so in the very beginnings of Judaism, the worship of Jehovah coincided with the worship of Elohim (Allah). It's high time that all believers in God humble ourselves and try to find the truth out instead of just arguing and reasoning endlessly to no point nor purpose.

Let me just clarify for you what we as Mormons believe - God the Father is the Supreme Creator...Jesus Christ created the heavens and earth under the direction of the Father.
If in John 1 you replace "Jesus" with the "word"
In the beginning was Jesus and Jesus was with God and Jesus was God.
We believe that, we believe Christ was already a god before he came to this earth...He already had a divine role in our Heavenly Father's Plan.

Hello, LottaLou:

You are correct, but Spiritual truths are Spiritually discerned, so it is only by the Holy Spirit that someone can declare Jesus as LORD. Here it is in 1 Corinthians 12:3 "Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost."

The J.W.s have their own Bible and feel you do not understand it--their theology is similar to that of the ancient Arians that were destroyed by the Byzantine and Roman Church as heretics--all were wrong!

Muslims claim that Jesus is not God, and say the Koran is more accurate. However, of the hundreds of translations available, all the Bibles still say Jesus is our Creator and God.

Concerning Mormons, they claim to believe the Bible, but say it is not preserved or translated correctly.

Let me recommend the Lamsa N.T. Bible. It is translated from the ancient Palestinian language that the disciples spoke. It is available at www.aramaicbiblesociety.org, or cheaper from e-bay. It was not heavily perverted by Rome or the Greeks.

Also, an online book can be read free that breaks a Bible code proving Jesus is the Messiah mathematically. See: http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

That doesn't prove anything. Why don't you just tell us what you believe the truth to be instead of telling us what you believe about other religions? Why does this show that Jesus was different then the Jesus in the Gospels? Didn't you know that Jesus himself claimed the same thing in the Gospels and the Jews almost stoned him for it?

John 10
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Yes! You are right in saying these things!

He is also the Most High God.
Daniel 7
27 'Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.'

Revelation 7
Revelation 22:3
No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.

It proves that you interpret the Bible differently than we do.

Explain this verse:

In the Beginning (who's beginning?) was the Word (Jesus, right?) and the Word was WITH God AND the Word WAS God.

So, how can Jesus be WITH God AND AT THE SAME TIME BE God? One can't be WITH someone and BE that someone at the same time. Like, how can I be WITH my daughter, and BE my daughter? Unless we are two separate beings.

In the Bible, "Elohim" means "gods", and the godS created the universe.

Many who rebelled against Peter whom GOD commanded to take care of HIS lambs, feed HIS sheep and take care of HIS sheep-THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH, have committed many grave errors of the faith because of disobedience to that command of GOD. Peter, is the one who sits on the Pope's Chair. Likewise, the 1st three major groupings of Chritianity are the Catholics, Greek Orthodox and the Protestants of whom they are the ones who first dismembered the body of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST-THE CHURCH. From them further are called splintered Christian groups like the mormons, Jehovah, Assembly of GOD, Born AGain, etc. But to THE LORD GOD, the Catholics, Protestants and the Greek Orthodox are one and united which was prayed on by THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (John 17:23). Moreover, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the GROOM and every human being is HIS bride and when this happens their hearts that come together so close that they become almost one. Likewise, under the HOLY TRINITY, THE HOLY SPIRIT is our friend as HE is the Comforter, Counselor and consoler. Furthermore, THE LORD GOD has a heart with unfathomable love, with boundless mercy and compassion and thus, a slight showing of repentance and asking for forgiveness THE LORD GOD without hesitation immediately forgives and embraces the sinner to HIS SACRED HEART. But THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the HEART of VIRGIN WHOM as Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist was inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT to say to her I am honored to be visited by THE MOTHER OF THE LORD (MOTHER OF GOD). Thus, as we honor VIRGIN MARY, we honor THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO said You honor ME if you Hail MY MOTHER and the Mother of all. THANK GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; ;LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD

The greek word translated (dia) 'by' in the KJV literally means

'THOUGH'

All creation came through Jesus,

NASB: 3All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

To get to the house you have to go through the gate.

Jesus is the gate, the Way, Not the House or the source.

The letter came by messenger.

The messenger is not the source of the letter.

The message Jesus gave was God's not his own.

John 7:28-29) 28 Therefore Jesus cried out as he was teaching in the temple and said: “YOU both know me and know where I am from. Also, I have not come of my own initiative, but he that sent me is real, and YOU do not know him. 29 I know him, because I am a representative from him, and that One sent me forth.”

(John 8:28) 28 Therefore Jesus said: “When once YOU have lifted up the Son of man, then YOU will know that I am [he], and that I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me I speak these things.

(John 14:10) . . .The things I say to YOU men I do not speak of my own originality; . . .

Not so. The Son’s share in the creative works, however, did not make him a co-Creator with his Father. The power for creation came from God through his holy spirit, or active force. (Ge 1:2; Ps 33:6) And since Jehovah is the Source of all life, all animate creation, visible and invisible, owes its life to him. (Ps 36:9) Rather than a co-Creator, then, the Son was the agent or instrumentality through whom Jehovah, the Creator, worked. Jesus himself credited God with the creation, as do all the Scriptures. Mt 19:4-6
