Very watered down answers from Mormons. LDS theology taught that there was a war in heaven. Those that fought on Lucifer's side ( the devil ) 1/3 were cast down to earth with out bodies. These beings try to tempt us to do the wrong things which will earn us eternal damnation with them. 1/3 that fought on God and Christ's side were sent to earth as normal fair or white and delightsome peoples. The other 1/3 decided to not take a side in the war in heaven. They have been given a body to come to earth but are cursed to wear the mark of Cain as a sign of their disobedience or inability to choose a side. My fmother and father among many other members in the ward I grew up in referred to the african race as fencesitters. You've heard enough about the mark of cain and now you see how they connected the dots. Now they refute this theology now as they were getting pressure from the U.S. goverment back in the civil rights movement back in the 1970's. They'll often tell members of the LDS church as they are growing up that they were born into the LDS church because they were valiant soldiers in the war in heaven. They have officially denounced this teaching. But it is still told to young teens. Just some real life truth as to where the curse theory got it's roots from in regards specifically to the LDS religion from 1st hand experience.

For many years in this country, all religions taught that black people were the Cursed by God. It wasn't until blacks, started their own churches that the doctrine began to fade out. Many churches still lean in that general direction if you follow them closely. Maybe not to your face, but it is there, especially if you have older white members..by older, I mean 80 ish............. The Mormon Church does not have Biggot views though, no more than any other religion if you look closely enough at it's past.

you should do your research, there are actually more black Mormons IN AFRICA than there are in Utah...........
Mormonism is a great faith that is not so tarnished by the scold of catholic church. The people of that faith where excelled out of Missouri in the beginning and the Governor at the time actually put out a freaking KILL ORDER on all Mormons in the state. They know what it is like to be persecuted and actually "overcome the persecution" unlike the whole of the black community. The Blacks that are mormons fell they can get over slavery in the same way the mormons got over near execution and exhile

Thank goodness there are. If not I wouldn't be a member. I had the erroneous impression that the church had been prejudiced. Everyone that gave me their testimony was a witness to the blessings of the restored Gospel.

Honestly anyone that goes into a racist religion is out of their mind. Only recently Blacks were allowed to join-- but why would they? The LDS Bible is pretty messed up in that way.

After the issue of "racism" was brought to the attention of the president of the "church" in the 80's, he had a convenient revelation and changed the doctrine to allow blacks to hold priesthood in that false religion.
The truly SAD part of Mormonism is that the dear followers have been duped into thinking that God's Word NEEDED "restoring"! They apparently didn't give God credit for keeping His Word in tact like He said He would "the gates of Hell shall not prevail against My Word."
Did God lie? Or is Mormonism a lie? ONE of them certainly did! ;-)
