I believe in God and I believe in Jesus and I believe in Bible. However, there is a difference between your belief and my belief. I believe that God is one and only without any partners or sons/daughters because HE is far above such a thing which we as human associate to ourselves.

God should have the following attributes to be considered God.
He should be one and only. without any need (food, toilet,) He should not resemble any of his creation. He should free from all sorts of needs and therefore not be subdued by anything...he should not give birth or had been given birth to and there should be no similar to him.

I believe in Jesus as one of the mightest messengers of Allah...just like there were many messengers and prophets before him (moses, abraham, noah etc)....he was given miracles so people would recognize him as prophet, he was given bible from god but over the many years uptill now many changes have been made in the bible and therefore the true word of god has been lost.

if much of this sounds similar to u as if coming from bible, then i wud like to tell u that it is actually teaches of islam. after jesus the last messenger (muhammad) was sent to mankind. he was the last of the prophets and he was given a book like many other prophets were given books. however the difference between his books & books of prophets before him is that ...his book (Quran) IS his Miracle. God promised to protect the Quran in the Quran itself and as a result not a single word not even a dot has been changed in the quran since it was revelaed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon all the prophets including jesus and Muhammad)...

The message of jesus was the same message as the message of Muhammad and their message is similar to the message of all the other prophets who came before them. I urge you...simply read the Quran...if it makes sense to you...accept it...if not...then I ask God to guide you because of your sincerity and verily He is most aware of as to who is guided and who is not.

Jesus was a mighty messenger. He was born to Virgin Mary and spoke while still in cradle. He used to give life to dead by the Will of God, heal the sick by will of God and perform other miracles by the Will of God.

In nothing else...i request you by my heart and purset of sincerity that you read only one chapter of the Quran which is entitled "Mary" in the honor of the mother of jesus. What other religion would honor some one from another faith unless both the religions had similar source...one true God. You can read the chapter 'Mary' online at the following link.

i hope my reply was helpful and friendly :)

I have seen all his little curses (blindness, disabilities), i see the sick dying (little children with leukemia), and i see the downtrodden trodden even further down. I see hate, and anger, and cruelty. Thats what i see - on the news, in everyday life, etc. Sure, there are miracles in the world, but these are very few and far between.. The bad far outweighs the good, according to the events going on in the world, at least.

I myself am a Wiccan. I've got a few mixed beliefs, but mostly i believe that there are many God's and Goddesses (facets of the one God and one Goddess) - i think that mostly, the Gods' done intervene in our lifes, and that humans are left to karma and fate. I think that, in asking the Gods' for help, that they will aid you if they see fit, or if fate allows. And if not, what is meant to be is meant to be. I think that bad people will get their just desserts (in this life, or the next) and that helps me accept all the wrongdoing in life. I just can't blind myself the way some Christians can, with all the bad things that happen on earth.

Why should I?Because it says so in the Bible which is the work of men who lived at a time when trying to explain the world around them meant they had to attribute everything with a religion, or because Jesus loves me which I believe to be a conceit that stems from what people are told and what people read and still holds no truth, or because I should worry about whether I am going to Heaven or not which I believe is nothing but an empty threat that is used to play on peoples fears in order to gain belief?

Also, I don't believe because of how they treat homosexuals, how they believe the world is 6000 years old and believe the Flintstones is a documentary, how they constantly legislate their beliefs, how they want their beliefs marked on tax paid public land, how they want their beliefs indoctrinated into the public schools which would devalue the higher learning, and how they constantly destroy progressive thinking with irrational fears guided by a book they believe so much to be true that some have and would be willing to kill over. All of these reasons along with the simple fact that I have thoughts that really mess up the whole "faith" thing are all my reasons why I chose to not believe anymore.

There just isn't any proof. There are allot of unlikely stories and personal 'experiences' but not one shred of documented and measurable proof. If God created the universe, you would expect to find him there in some measurable way.

Science started as an attempt to find God, it has been happening for hundreds of years, and the more we learn, the more evidence we find that contradicts the bible.

Which means that the main source God supposedly left for mankind to discover God's will is not accurate scientifically, and cannot be the word of a perfect being.

I suggest reading the bible starting at Genesis, and do so with the intent to understand the nature of God. If God doesn't change then His nature in the Old Testament should convince you that he isn't loving and probably doesn't exist.

The problem with the adittional information you added is that these things are attributed to many gods, and other myths throughout human history. Greeks used your examples as proof that posiedon lived, Romans used them as proof that neptune existed, and Egyptians said that Ra had to exist because poeple were blessed and healed by him everyday.

The fact is that it really doesn't happen. We like to believe that healing is real, but it cannot be done in a controlled environment. Sometimes people get better, but if you would really like to put healing to the test, pray for someone without an arm, or who is physically deformed or who has downs syndrome.

Why doesn't God care to heal these things? If God is real and does interact with mankind, what is it about mentally challenged people, and the deformed that he dislikes so much so that they can't receive his healing touch?

Its an important question that should be asked.

Because I can disprove much of the bible.

First creation 7 days

Dinosours have existed in fossil record since 230 million years ago, and most died off 65 million years ago.

Homosapien fossil remains, the oldest that exist are 200,000 years ago in africa.

If the god made the world, the animals and mankind in seven days how can dinosaurs have died off 65 million years before mankind was on earth. That is a very long 7 days.

Additionally on to Noahs ark. There is not enough water in the world to cause complete flooding. Even if all ice melted, which has happened before, the water level would not even be close to covering the whole earth, while it would raise total earth water level by around 50 feet, anything that is now 50 feet above sea level would still be above water, additionally even factoring in strange tidal activity there is still no way to submerge all land at once under water.

Additionally getting two of each animal is physically impossible, to fit that many animals would require a boat the size of europe. There are over 10,000 bird species in the world. There are at least 2 million types of insects. There are over 5,400 species of mammals. There are over 8,000 species of reptiles.

OH and what about the food? An adult elephant can eat 300 to 600 lbs of food a day, a pair that is 600 to 1200 lbs a day. 600 x 30 days equals 18,000 lbs of food just to feed the elephants. Also need to feed the other millions of animals still.

Then you could say well god suspended the need for food for the animals, well if he did that why didnt he suspend drowning, and just not made noah bring them along.

Part of the problem of christianity is you have to bury your head in the sand to try to ignore what science has proven.

Or instead you could realize the bible was not a factual account of events and was instead not meant to be taken literally, but this would cause all sorts of doctrinal problems, and disturb peoples beliefs.

My reasons for not believing in God, Allah, Buddha, or any other all powerful, all knowing deity are as follows: First, virtually everything we like to ascribe as a “miracle” or “work of God” can be attributed to something else, usually coincidence. I’ve read the Bible and I’ve read the numerous scriptures telling me “ask and you shall receive” and “nothing will be impossible for you” and “I tell you the truth, if you have but the faith of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain ‘cast thyself into the sea’ and it will be done for you.” Since a mustard seed is pretty small, and can presume that if they have but the smallest amount of faith, then they can move mountains. You have faith, have you ever tried to move a mountain? How far did it move?
I’m sure you can name plenty of examples of miracles that God has performed or answered prayers. I’m willing to bet that all of those answered prayers had one thing in common: they were ambiguous situations. An example of an ambiguous situation would be claiming that God healed a cancer patient. Perhaps it was God, perhaps it was the person’s immune system, perhaps it was chemo-therapy. One way to tell for certain whether or not God answers prayers is to remove the ambiguity. You can do this right now, if you want to. Are you ready? Here it goes.
Pray your more sincere and earnest prayer for an amputee to grow his limb back. In fact, get some of your believer friends to join in. Start a prayer chain and get millions of people to join you in this prayer for this deserving amputee to grow his arm or leg back. Salamanders do it all the time in the wild. This should be child’s play for the all powerful creator of the universe, shouldn’t it? Now sit back and watch what happens. No matter how much you believe or how much you pray, nothing will happen. The amputee will remain an amputee. This seems odd doesn’t it? After all, Jesus said that nothing would be impossible for you. An all knowing God would know how humans interpret sentences. If he meant something else, he should have said something else.
Of course, there are all kinds of rationalizations you can pull for why God won’t heal this amputee and answer this prayer. Perhaps it isn’t God’s will or perhaps he is trying to send a message through this amputee. Fair enough. But if that’s the case, isn’t it a little odd that God has singled out this group to deliver the message. In all of history, there isn’t one single example of an amputee growing his limb back…not one!
You can try this little experiment with any non-ambiguous situation. In every case where the ambiguity is removed, God too is mysteriously absent.
Religion is a relic of our uneducated and unenlightened ancestors. It was their way of explaining complications in the universe for which they didn’t have the answer. It is worth noting that the ancient Greeks believed in Zeus, Hera, and Apollo just as much as you believe in Jesus. That didn’t make the Olympian God’s any more true than the God of Abraham. It is all ancient literature, and not worth structuring your life around.

First, many of the stories in the bible are horrific at best.

Second, there are way too many "issues" in the bible to believe that it is the word of someone who could create the entire universe.

Third, prayers are unanswered. They are like the games at Las Vegas. But random luck people get a payoff everyonce in awhile and they totally forget about all the misses.

Fourth, there is no evidence that there is a god in the sky.

Fifth, I did not have a bad life and I have never been beaten or rape.

#1. False prophet. Deut 18 and Jeremiah 28 If he can not meet the standards of a TRUE prophet, then you can not expect him to meet the standards of a TRUE messiah.

#2. He did not meet the definition of messiah as used at that time and does not meet the definition made up by the Xians.

#3. He took the Golden Rule as stated by Hillel and weakened it, and in fact stuck a big fat loophole in it. A true messiah would never take something good and weaken it.

#4. No where in the Tanakh does it say that the true messiah would need TWO comings and over 2000 years to fulfill the prophacies.

#5. Jesus advocated breaking the commandment about honoring your father and mother. A true prophet (or messiah) would never do something like that...

The list goes on and on.....

I was raised Christian (southern Baptist), in fact my parents were brought over to this country by missionaries, and so I owe a lot to the Christian religion (and some would say to God Himself). I go to church every Sunday and Wednesday, sing in the choir, and even play in the church praise band as a way of expressing my gratitude. It is just that before I devote my entire life to an idea, I would like to have a good bit of proof supporting that idea. I have searched for years and found none.

Now I think that god's existence is impossible to prove as well as disprove so to claim to KNOW one way or the other is presumptuous, because of this I claim to be without knowledge (agnostic) on the whole god thing.

I have had a good upbringing and a very good life, heard testimony of many supposed 'miracles' (from both immediate and extended family - we were adopted into the family of the missionaries). I simply refuse to believe anything just because it is tradition to do so.

I dont belive, becuse I looked for answers and the answers i found were not him. I see imprefection, in everything, thats apart of loving it, and the abillity to love. If you are perfect all you can love is yourself. Also I look at the world and Life and I dont really see how any one could judge it as a bad place. Humans make it a bad place through intolerance and sensless violence, but essentially the earth could and should be a wounderful place full of new hope evryday. I dont see why not, and I feel that my Gods promote humanity the best. Sure there are bad parts, but I think that the potential for good in my religeon out ways the potential for bad. Christianity I feel that the potential for bad outways the potential for good. I only say potential, im not accusing.

If you do, then why? Why do you dare to question the beliefs of others unless you are actually questioning your own? The reasons people believe how they do has many different answers, could have been a revelation of some sort, maybe they were brought up to believe a certain way and never questioned it. Then again, maybe they did and now believe something entirely different such as our atheist friend who answered previously. What difference does it make. Understand your own beliefs and why you have them, respect the rights of others to have their own opinions and faiths or even absence thereof. It makes life a whole lot easier to be able to rejoice in ones own existence without the concern of why they are who they are and why they believe what they believe.
