I mean did God ever appear to Muhammad or did he only meet with the spirit? Can you please provide a quote if you know of one that would answer this?

As far as I know, he had encounters with an angelic being, who claimed to be Gabriel, initially in a cave. He had trances later on where he presumably had revelations from this being. Apparently these revelations were remembered by his companions. After Mohammed's death they started to write them down. In case accounts differed an official version of the Koran was (assuming things went as smoothly as the account says) brought about by Caliph Uthman, and other Korans destroyed about 20 years after Mohammed's death.

did u all forget the time when the Holy Prophet (saw) was brought up close on the 7th sky by God ... he (saw) was always close to God yet brought more close where the angels cant even enter ~!!! where there was no distance btw them both.

No Mohammed (pbuh) never spoke to God, no one has. God communicated with Mohammed through Angel Gabriel.
