God can't write so he befuddled a bunch of bearded drunkards to take down "the gist of it". Then, after much gibbering and bantering, some sections got changed, discarded or otherwise un-created. What was left was pasted together, then later dissected and recreated by the synod of 393 AD. Then again much later, then again and again until the Council of Trent in the mid 1500's. Stories were changed, lost and/or made up and thus the "word of god" was created. By now, Guttenberg's invention was well used by the state and the holy word could be spread across the land.

Now we have a bunch of modern-day believers who think it is perfect and holy in every way...much to the contrary for the "divine authorities" who carved it up, as it was being created, for consumption by the masses.

Well obviously God didn't write the bible. A bunch of dudes wrote some stuff over time from 1000 to 200 BC and some other dudes put it all together. Then the J-man popped out and started preaching all this stuff. Bunch of dudes wrote that stuff down and put it all together (old stuff and new stuff)to make a Bible. God didn't write any of the bible because of his poor writing skills. Try writing a paper with lightning bolts-it's pretty hard dude.

The biblical texts were not written to be part of a "Bible". They were written in various times and places to address specific needs in those times and places. It was the decision of the Catholic Church in the 4th Century to gather some of its writings into a book, to make them more readily accessible to the greatest number of people, and to identify those particular texts which could be regarded with certainty as divinely inspired. The 73 texts the holy Spirit led them to select are the Bible, nothing more, nothing less.

The Bible was written by many different people at different times and in different parts of the world so that each prophet could be validated by the others. Most of the prophets never met or even knew about one another, and yet they all wrote in harmony with the Holy Spirit's direction.

God didn't write the Bible. Men wrote the books of the Bible and were inspired by God.

First of all, god did not write the bible. People wrote the bible at various times throughout history. Other people gathered bits and pieces, what they wanted, threw out the rest. It's a hodge podge of "inspired" writing and poetry and story telling.

what's funny is that 2000 years ago, St. Augustine wrote that the bible said the earth is 6000 years old.

therefore, the earth must be a least 8000.

as for your question, i guess the jews had to first land in the promised land, then some prophets had to predict it. It would be pretty strange if some guy came saying "i'm the guy that wasn't prophesised about."

Yeah, and while He was at it, He could have dropped a few magical mysterious names, like Hewlett Packard or Google. Can you imagine, Ezekiel 2:4-7, "And lo, he Googled the Answer and saw it was good." Then I'd KNOW, I mean really know, know what I mean?
