hello everyone.

Many people were brought to this country when they were little kids. Now that they are over 18 they face many walls. They can not get a "job", a driver license, they cannot go to college. Why? Because they are not here legally even though this people have lived here all their lifes. Few of my friends face this. One of my good friend can get a job becuase she is here illegally even thought she doesnt even know spanish, she doesnt remember anything about mexico, she graduated from high school with honors. now she cannot get into a university because she is a non-spanish speaking mexican. if she gets deported to mexico, what is she going to do there??oh well too bad for her right???
This is happening everywhere. people being deported back to their countries without having a clue about them.
You know all those good people should get deported. and you know what are they going to do??
Cross the border.
why? because their lives are here
and they are as American as you

As far as i know.
To be a criminal you must have the intention of doing something illegal/unlawful.
do you think those kids wanted to be here illegally?

Criminal kids..that makes me laugh. How much time on jail should they get?

And im not blaming the US....but they should get something..and that something is the Dream act.

I could look at trying to find a way to not punish kids especially those that doesn't speak Spanish etc, but FIRST start with a secure border and deport all illegals that have ANY criminal record. Then we can talk about specific cases. If the open border crowds were truly compassionate, they would agree to that so that people who are less culpable would not suffer.

The situation definitely sucks. That's like putting a cub born in a zoo back in the wild.

Unfortunately, making exceptions would make the situation worse. The moment someone like your friend gets a green card (and I definitely sympathize), some crook who has been here only 5 years is going to get a lawyer or the ACLU or La Raza or whatever and holler to high heaven for the same exception.

As for the parents, 20 years ago, the decision was not the same. They knew they could come and go. There was no enforcement, nothing. I'm not saying it's right, but I'm sure that's what they thought.

Nowadays, I would think most parents thinking of bringing their kids to the USA are considering the fact that life is different and that they and their kids could be deported.

Listen I've been all over the world and I know how lucky I really am to be born in the USA.

I'm not for illegals become citizens just to make it 'easier' the main advantage of them being here is to do cheep labor for less then legal citizens will get paid.

But just saying 'okay it's not your fault your parents brought you here' doesn't exactly make it okay. They should of been stopped in the first place.

Are they as American as I (or the average citizen) no, because they can't run for president. If they take the test and become American citizens are they as American as (the average citizen) NO THEY KNOW MORE about American culture then anyone ever born here!

Ironic isn't it.

You have to know more then the above average citizen to become a citizen, that's why I respect those who earn there citizenship to this country so much more then someone who was born into it. (if you doubt it watch Leno, and the questions he asks random people on the street)

First of all, this situation is not as common as you would have us believe. That is to say it's common, but it is rare that someone in this situation is college material.

She should go to Mexico and apply for a US student visa as a foreign student. She should be able to obtain assistance from her former high school, relatives in Mexico, however distant, the Mexican government, and her Congressional representative in the US. On the up side, she will learn Spanish which people expect her to know anyway if she has a Spanish surname. I assume she has excellent letters of recommendation which will speed up her case.

It's the parents fault. I see at the end it boils down to the Dream Act. Why should they get a benefit that US citizens with law abiding citizen parents don't get? College is not a guarenteed right in this country. Illegals can go. They just have to pay. Just like everyone else who comes to this country legally does and just like our own citizens who don't get scholarships or qualify for things. They pay their own way. No one is forbidding them from going.....just pay up. Every poor person even with good grades doesn't get to go to college. Every poor person who wants to go isn't given a free ride either. No American citizen should be denied an education or have to pay more while illegals get benefits citizens don't. I say that because we do have the Dream Act here in my state and the very next thing out of their mouths was a FREE college education. Next was Spanish speaking college professors just for them. Enough already.

I don't OWE them anything. The government isn't spending it's money. They are spending the money of the tax paying citizens.

I suppose you must be deported proper now for residing right here illegally all the ones years. A Milwaukee Police Officer used to be not too long ago imprisoned and quickly to be deported for lieing on his process software that he used to be a authorized alien. You sir... broke the legislation. Continue to wreck the legislation and despite the fact that you're looking to grow to be authorized, attempting doing it from had been you must be no longer had been you're now. Medical colleges in different international locations are handy to get into. You should have no obstacle.

This is a sad issue that really hits so close to home! It is very unfortunate that these people that have been in this country for so many years, can't seem to get legalized. Immigration is a very touchy subject because there are so many opinions. I feel that before 09/11 immigrants from other countries were getting legalized after the aftermath it has become harder and harder for those good law abiding citizens to accomplish their hopes and dreams! One bad apple spoils it for al the good ones. Hopefully one day everyone in this country regardless of their miratory status. We have to be patient and wait for these leiglatures to go through. Mexicans are not the only illegal ones in this country this is a melting pot, for some reason everyone segregates the Mexicans, and not the other races! Just imagine what would a day be without a Mexican? Stop, think, and observe, good things shall come our way!

I have cousins who were raised by missionary and even military parents in foreign countries (diverse family, huh) and couldn't speak but broken English till they were teens.

They came back here, assimilated, excelled and are doing above average!

The situation is only as bleak as your friend chooses to make it. If you really care about her, sit down with her and study Spanish together! I sat down in my early twenties and learned Chinese, for God's sake! It wasn't that hard and when I lived in a Chinese-speaking country, I even lost my bai guei accent.

She's sitting pretty, as I see it. She graduated high school (A) with honors and (B) on OUR DIME!

What the H3LL is she pitchin' about? Mexico has a TRILLION DOLLAR A YEAR ECONOMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That goofy bunch has over 18 BILLION barrels of KNOWN petroleum reserves! The average income is about $9,000/yr compared to Russia's $9,700/yr!!!

I'm not cussing anyone. If anything, I'm clarifying the REAL picture for you and your friend.

This isn't true. They do go to OUR schools, and our colleges and get degrees we should have been able to get. They get our jobs. They do too get IDs. They have money and accounts. I think you must know a stupid lot because I'm in California where most people are first or second generation and they do whatever the hell they want and I'm always waiting behind them.

I couldn't care less.
The parents are to blame for this and the whole family should be deported!
Look at it as a learning experience.
The kids will get to know a new "culture" and language!
