It happens everytime. I just wonder is there something wrong with him? Do you cats do it too?

My cat doesn't stare at the microwave when i warm something but i don't think there's anything wrong with him.He could just be curious about the sound it makes or he could want the food that goes into the microwave.

your cat has a brain that is tuned into the microwaves and has to stare at the microwave it is really very common. (just kidding)

your cat is just begging for food or a scrap in a nice way. i bet your dad or someone or even you have given him food or dropped some after microwaving it. cats are also very sensitive to sound. he is just looking at the strange sound. then right before the food is done in the microwave it starts to smell good. im shure he picks up on that there is food there too.

1. Maybe he likes the noise.
2. Maybe he likes the motion (cats are attracted to moving things, so if there's a rotating feature...) or the smells.
3. Maybe he has learned to associated the microwave with potential sharing of delicious warm food.
4. Cats are weird.
That's all I've got. My cat is obsessed with running water, if it makes you feel any better. ;-)

I think your cat is just curious about the noise that the microwave makes. It could also be looking at what is in the microwave... seeing as how it is spinning in circles.

Perhaps it's just entertained by the fact that a light comes on in the microwave and that an object is spinning without anything obvious to cause it.

cats are kinda curios all the time so she might be thinking like what's in the microwave and why is there lights inside that thing then she might be thinking that the microwave will move and hurt people

haha I agree with almost everyone...the cat is just amazed...cats have weird fetishes, lol...I have 2 cats of my own, I can't say either of them look at the microwave, but all cats have their weird ways. Your cat is just fascinated and has probably caught on to the reason of the microwave...and knows that food comes out of it, and he wants some. lol this is why you gotta love cats

You don't give your cat enough credit for intelligence, she obviously associates the microwave with food - and she's right.

cats enjoy all actives even microwaves..Dazzle loves to sit and play with my coffee maker,while Razzle loves to jump inbetween the shower curtain and watch the water hit it..they are very curious animals and love adventure..They love to check out anything new..enjoy your cat..I also have one that just stares at the wall..we say you looking at the fairy kitty again...lol

Some people don't know it but cats can see waves go through the air and people can;t Cats can also see the laser light your tv remote makes....
