No, actually I think my parents truly expected me to end up in prison, or worse. It's hard to disappoint parents with that kind of expectations.

I think I am, actually. My mom is a hardcore, diehard fundamentalist evangelical Christian and her son is a Muslim. My mom *hates* gay people and her son thinks they should be allowed to marry and adopt. She puts a lot of weight into that stuff. Things like my straight edge lifestyle, not going to jail, and not surprising her with any unexpected grandchildren don't matter much to her. My dad is just relieved I finished college, got an engineering degree, and I'm not gay, so I guess I didn't disappoint him....
So, I'm 1 for 2 on the disappointments! If this were baseball, I'd be in the Hall of Fame with a .500 average like that!

No I am not, although I have been at certain times in my life.
I have been forgiven. Furthermore we all disappoint each other, my parents disappointed me also, but they have been forgiven, and we are all forgiven for what we do, accepting forgiveness, now that is the hard part, as we would actually have to humble ourselves enough to say that we needed it.

My parents are/were very proud of me. I work at the same company my dad retired from, so he always has to tell everyone "she's following in her father's footsteps". The first priority of my mom was for me to grow up to be a good Christian woman; I know she was very proud of me and my accomplishments. They both want/ed me to remain faithful to God & Christ and were even more proud and happy for me when my then-fiance` chose to become a Christian also. God has always been and still is Number One in our home.

No. I made my mother quite proud actually. I'm the first member of the family to have attended university and graduated college. I didn't get pregnant young, sneak out as a child, or cause her problems.
As for my father... his opinion doesn't really matter to me.

my parents are not disappointed in me. they are very proud of me. my sister and i beat my parents out when it comes to losing our virginity. my parents were 16. my sister and i are 23 and still PROUD virgins. it took my parents a little longer to get their college degree's my sister and i grad. from college when we were 22. they wanted us to be better then them. they have raised me, my sister and my brother to the best of their abilities and allowing God to take over. no matter what we have done wrong in the past...my parents have always been there for us. *tears up*

Oh, yeah, I totally am right now. Mostly because I won't get out of their house and don't have a job. So, er...but I am looking for a job...sort of.
