Again, Einstein shows his intelligence.

I'm fine with it... If there were as many print shops blowing up as there are stars and random occurrences that could create life over the past few trillion years throughout the universe, then I'm sure somewhere there would be an unabridged dictionary... Presuming the blowing up didn't pretty much guarantee a fire that would destroy all the paper... Even the slimmest chance would happen sooner or later.

I always did like Einstein's sense of humor. He never minced any words, he taught us lessons on our level, even though he was a genius. Being a genius and being able to relate to and teach us non genius's, makes Einstein even more of a genus. Most people with high IQ's, have very little people skills especially when it comes to communicaion.

This quote is typical of Einsteins teachings. It puts a picture in your mind, and helps you remember what he is trying to say.

I agree with Mr E. Evolution has many falabilities. Especially ones like where are the mammal like creatures that developed between monkey and man? Not killed in the ice age, because the monkey's did survive. I mean where are those who are between us and the ameba? The probablity of evoultion is easy to grasp if you don't think much about it, but once you start studing it, you start finding out it's many questions that remain unanswered.

Like Mr. E, I believe in God. He doesn't say he believes in God out and out, but he does elude to his belief in a higher power. If he believed aliens had dropped us off he would have said so.

Their is a higher consciousness called God, and he communicates to us thru Jesus and the Bible. God is, and God did create the world. There is no probablity about that.

That guy Einstein was a pretty smart dude.

It kind of reminds me of the instructions for making an "Evolution Wrist Watch".

Step 1: Take a wrist watch apart, all the way down to it's smallest pieces, until it cannot be taken apart anymore.

Step 2: Place all of the pieces inside a paper bag and close the top of the bag.

Step 3: Shake the bag until all the individual pieces come together and form a perfect, working wrist watch.

Step 4: Be patient, it may take a while.

God bless you.

It sounds very clever. I wonder who actually said it? I know people like to stick Einstein's name on things to give them a little more authority, but they always neglect to include the date or the occasion.

The January 1963 issue of "Reader's Digest" attributes the quote to Princeton biology professor Edwin Conklin, in 1956 (four years after he died), but he actually believed in evolution. I guess we'll never know.

I only know that clever does not automatically mean right.

We have learned allot since that time. Our understanding of the universe has grown tremendously, and the sheer size and volume of it makes the odds against life's existence quite a bit smaller.

For instance, many of the dots in the sky that were considered to be stars, are now known to be Galaxies. We now know that the volume or our Galaxy is approximately 150 Billion Stars. We know that there are other objects that are orbiting these stars just like our own Solar system.

In our Solar system alone there are three objects that have water and enough heat to possibly house life. Earth, Titan, and Europa. 3 chances in 1 solar system.

Many of the stars in our Galaxy have much bigger solar systems and could have many more, life capable planets and moons. But if we use our system as an average there would be 450,000,000,000 chances for life to exist in our Galaxy alone.

Now consider there are Trillions of galaxies, many of them much bigger than the milky way. Lets just take an additional 10 Billion galaxies and add it to the odds of life occurring.

There are well over 4,500,000,000,000,000,000,000 chances for life to have accidentally existed, pretty good odds, in fact I would guess that the odds are far greater in favor or life existing than not.

Especially considering that amino acids can be created in a lab, using basic elements and electricity.

As a philosopher Einstein could not come to a conclusion & people wrote the big bang theory the way they liked.

If I understood it right it means life wasn't an accident just like the making of a dictionary isn't accidental.

IF.....that's what it means I totally agree. (smart guy that Albert)

Why is it we always use quotes to prove our point? I do it often too, but why?

I fell in love with Albert Einstein when I read his Why Socialism article in high school. It was amazing and I had to read each paragraph like 3 times to understand. lol

You realize Einstein was a JEW, right?? As in, not speaking of the Christian version of God, but a Creator. And, that this quote is not from him, right???

And, the quote is false. Life is a living entity, a typeset book is not a living thing. It is comparing apples to oranges. Not to mention that it shows Einstein's misunderstanding of evolution - there is no "accident" in evolution.

But go ahead and thumbs down me for speaking truth.

I question the validity of quotes sometimes. I don't know if this was really said by Einstein, but I do agree.
