This technology could mean knocking out our electrical lines for months and there would be no transportation, no refrigeration, no communication for our masses for months. Our people would starve to death. Since this is such a serious threat why are our borders not extended more than 10 miles out at sea? Why are we not making preparation to combat this type of threat? What the heck is our government doing? What say you, American?

We would need to shield all of our electronics in Mu metal shields. All power and communications lines would need to be shielded, or buried deep in the ground. I'm not sure if the satellited would be ok or not. We discussed this 30 years ago in nuclear physics where I worked. But this wasn't the work at the lab where I was.

EMP was discovered back in the 40's during the nuclear weapons testing program.EMP also occurs during high solar flare activity.Solution is shielding of circuit boards and shielding/grounding of electrical transmission sub-systems.I think your worries are a little exaggerated:the world as we know it will not come to an end.Major inconvenience to all but it will not result in the demise of humanity.
