Ok... I have a question.... Whats the best way to get your 4 legged furry friends to stop going potty on one specific area. We have tryed everything on that spot. But they keep going on that spot. All it takes is one cat to go in that spot and everyone else wants to. Our 2 girls go in the cat box. But our boy cat refuses to use it. Then the dog goes over to where the cat went potty. plz help me. Whats the best way of training him or doing something about the poor carpet. It SMELLS!!! And plz dont say get rid of the cat.

No don't get rid of the cat. Get rid of the carpet or really clean it well. Any left smell attracts the cat and dog to pee there. It will help if the boys are neutered, and if they are checked for a urinary tract infection just in case.

First of all you'll have to get rid of the scent and the only way to do that is with an enzyme based cleaner. You can find this type of cleaner at any pet store and I think it is even available at Safeway and Home Hardware. Once you have gotten rid of the scent make sure you have at least one litter box per cat and the rule of thumb is to have one more litter box than the number of cats...so if you have three cats, you should have 4 litter boxes. Make sure at least one of the litter boxes is covered. Because of the dog, I would suggest that you try to place the litter boxes up higher than the dog can reach. Most cats don't mind jumping up to use their litter box. As well, if you have one cat that is not using the litter box, try a different litter in one or two of the boxes and see if he prefers some other type. You might also place the boxes in different locations. Maybe he doesn't like the location of the boxes. It may be too noisy or too much foot traffic goes by, it could be anything with a cat...:)

As far as training the dog, you will have to start from the beginning and teach him as if he were a puppy. Kennel training him is the easiest way to house train. I have added a link to kennel training and rehouse training your adult dog. I hope something here works for you!!
Good luck!

have you tried putting *TONS* of pepper on it? if that dosen't work try seperating them, like after the cat pees, then clean it up before the dog can pee on it. if that doesn't work, try teaching your dog to leave it and the best way to do that is to start with treats. So, put a treat on the ground and say the words leave it. while putting your hand over it. then if he leaves it tell him "OK" and let him have the treat. after he knows that sit next to the potty spot and tell your dog leave it and maybe he will.
Good Luck!

P.S. about the carpet try a "Little Green" Machine

Crate them each at the same time relocating out of the historical location and at the same time relocating into the brand new. Better but - board them at a doggie daycare or kennel facility, a peers condominium, and even your vet at the same time you're busy moving all of the different "stuff". Once matters are settled decide on them up and take them "dwelling" to the brand new location. I constantly knew my cats had permitted a brand new dwelling whilst, after examining the whole lot, they sat down and started cleansing themselves. Best to decide on every body up a bit of earlier than dinnertime so they have got time for a "excursion" (open air too in terms of the puppy) then feed them so that they recognise in which their meals & water bowls are placed. Make definite the cats recognise in which the clutter field is, although you ought to depart it within the core of the residing room and progressively shift it to (anywhere) If your cats are "outside" cats, hold them in for every week or extra as soon as you're within the new location. * * * * My vet runs perhaps $10/day for boarding. And that's for an in a single day stick with foods. Is there any threat they're due for IZ's besides and also you would "drop them off" for the ones, then now not return till later within the day? My vet presents drop off carrier for vaccines... Does the brand new condominium have a (first of all empty) bed room you'll be able to placed the puppy in (in its crate) and feasible even simply a rest room for the cats with a blanket within the bathtub for his or her mattress and placed indicators at the doorways of the ones rooms, announcing DO NOT OPEN! PETS WILL ESCAPE! Do you now not have a buddy or loved ones member who would watch them?

You should have a few litter boxes, and I would get a kennel to put the dog in while your gone. Wishing you the best of Luck...
