Earlier this year, Bush promised that if Iraq told us we should leave, then we would get out of there. Today, Paul Harvey reported that three major studies were conducted independently of each other, to size up the attitudes and feelings of the Iraqi people. All three studies found that at this point, 47% of Iraqis want us to leave -- NOW!!

If that number gets to be over 50%, Bush can either do the honorable thing (don't hold your breath!) and get all of our troops OUT of there, on the spot. Or he can break his promise, and thus, once **again**, prove to everyone that his word isn't worth a fried rat turd. Which one do YOU think he'll do, if the Iraqis tell us to leave?

To "Lion of Judah" -- This is an appropriate question for R&S because it deals with a supposedly Christian leader who LIES through his teeth. Some example he's setting! (Have you noticed that an admonition against lying is one of the Big Ten?)

To "Rella" -- See my comment to "Lion of Judah."

To "Kitz" -- Hmmm. Good point...

...but then, I **did** qualify that with the word, supposedly...

To "L'Chaim" -- Okay, I'll play your game. If 47% of Iraqis want us to leave now, they still comprise a minority (barely). But you say that the majority (which in this case would be those who DON'T feel this way) could be wrong. Fine. Works for me!

Your poll numbers are meaningless. The majority is NOT always right. Were the majority of the Nazis Christian?

Since you asked this in the religious category, I'll tell you that Judaism stresses the importance of challenging authority and challenging majority opinion. We've learned from centuries of experience that majority opinion can lead to devastating results!

"Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told lawmakers that Iraqi forces were not ready to take over security from the U.S. military across the country." from USA Today http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2007-09-10-iraq-monday_N.htm?csp=34

So, does President Bush listen to surveys regarding the **FEELINGS** of Iraqi people, or does he work with the democratically elected Prime Minister in order to appropriately time the troop withdrawal?

Curiously enough, I agree with everything Enigma stated. It's all about a one world government, and Bush's policies (like those of Clinton and Bush Sr) are devised to put UN troops on American soil. As Kissinger said in the aftermath of the LA riots, "If we put UN troops on American soil today, Americans would be outraged; tomorrow morning they would be thankful". Bush and his daddy have always been about the New World Order. Ditto for Clinton.

God Bless Pres. Bush. He has always tried to do what is the honorable thing in helping the Iraqi people get rid of that slaughterer, Hussein, and his henchmen sons, which he did. Building up what has been torn down, including schools water systems, etc. better than they were before.. And also the self worth of a beaten down people. While doing so he has not only had to fight terrorists from every direction but the disrespect of American citizens...The heighth of D-I-S-R-E-S-P-E-C--T.

He will use the statistics to "prove" that 50% of the people in Iraq are "Al Qaeda in Iraq" and ask Congress for more troops to put them down.

Paul Harvey? No kidding?

If you look all the way back to his first term, you can list all the cabinet changes and gov't leaks, and dare I say, 'misinformation' from bush to his people.
but like w said," They tried to kill my daddy."
yet we re-elected him. and what happened? the same sh*t over again. It's like an abusive relationship. we keep coming back for more. More lies, more cabinet changes, more shootings of each other in the face.. I can't take republicans seriously anymore. They turned our country into a joke.

and you bet your ***, pres. Bush will end up saying something like, " well, we're keeping troops over there. blah blah i'm a texan. blah blah "

The appropriate forum for discussions of politics is Politics & Government-Politics. Another possibility is News & Events-Current Events.

But you have entered this in the Religion & Spirituality section.

Bush has told and been caught in so many lies it just rediculous. His embarassments are leigon. But at least he will give history students of the future a good laugh at what is otherwise a boring subject.
