Yes you can, provided you feel the change is needed, provided the present is becomming difficult, provided you think that something is worth having compared to something that is not worth it.
Looks like your bf wants you to change and the change is not from you. then it may be difficult because you see smoking as ok while your bf feels the other way.
Ask your self do you value smoking more than your bf? place the pros and cons of smoking in front of you and then make a decision. look for all the good and bad of both and then decide. You alone have the power to change, and change has to come from within you, If it is imposed you are not going to feel happy. you may give it up now but surely you will smoke when he is not around.
Smoking causes death, and here is someone caring for you more than you care for yourself. Looks like your bf really loves you. I understand he is asking something that you want to hold on to, you may say it is who you are, but givng up a little of your habit is giving you a sense of belonging in return which is far more than smoking. ( a dead thing controls you more than a living loving being) Think it over.. Good luck

You can probably quit smoking. As far as what you Boy Friend wants you to change I wouldn't even bother trying. What has he changed about himself for you? And to be honest how long is this guy going to be around? Why change only to have to change for the next guy?

If you smoke occasionally you probably able to quit fairly easily. You just need something to keep your hands busy and chew gum. Try not to socalize too much with others that smoke. Have them go outside to smoke so its not tempting you.

People can defintiely change things about the personality, behavior and outlook in life. They have to want to do it for themselves though and not someone else. I have been reading it in a book called "If only he knew" what no woman can resist. It talks about loving others and our need somtimes to realize how we treat others and our need to change. it says it generally takes 30 60 days for a change to really take place.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. Sounds like your bf is telling you that you need to make some changes. But in my opinion if you feel these are changes you want to make then you need to do it for YOU not because your bf said you need to. You can always make changes to yourself but NEVER do it for a man honey!

Sure, everyone can change...what you have are called habits, that can be changed to benefit you in a positive way. As for the smoking habit...there are tons of ways to quit...see your doctor.

Change if you want to change but please do not do it if just to please your partner. I did the same mistake. I quit my high flying & a good paying job just to please him but now I'm miserable. If your partner doesn't want you for who/what you are, tell him /her to take a long walk on a short pier. But smoking, it's bad for health. Would he/she still be with you when further down the line you are walking around carrying an oxygen bottle because you're suffering from breathing problem????

You can change anything you just have to really want to for yourself and not to impress someone else. Changing can be easy if you have the right motivation.

yes you can. however, it should be because you want to, not because someone else wants you to.
as for the smoking thing, read "the easy way to quit" by Allen Carr.
Best wishes.
