I believe we need to read and study the Bible alone and it is just as important to gather and study with other sisters and brothers in Christ to do the same that way we can be still and listen for that still small voice and be taught by the Father and we can also learn from others and share what we have learned.

Depends on who you trust. Some people have work to do in this world. Fellowship helps us in Bible studies too.

Your teacher, your preacher, your friends may or may not agree with what you read. Read IT, then discuss it.

Yet as 1 God, He has the power to bring us together, as that is the purpose He set forth for the Church, as He did when limiting Himself and Using the Israel of the Old Testament.

God has the Power to use even the various translations to help us understand His Word, as He is in CONTROL, right?
Unless you know Greek, Hebrew, and a little Aramaic.

Study the flow of Shakespeare too, 39 plays of the King's vernacular - King James, that is.

Read 1st John. Analyze it verse by verse, then phrase by phrase. If you can do that, then God may have given you the gift of teaching. Listen to preachers and see how they communicate LOVE. You WILL KNOW after these 5 chapters.

I have read the Bible in various places that were loud. I have had noise limiting cups upon my ears in a bed (noisy fans).

Memorize the Word by writing verses on paper or cards, and then you can easily pull them from your pocket when you are in a location not good for a Bible.

The natural place for the Bible to be read is during the Catholic Liturgy. Usually the Mass. The writings now collected as the Bible were initially collected, preserved, copied and finally canonized for the specific purpose of being proclaimed to the faithful during Mass. The readings from the Bible are immediately followed by a homily explaining their meaning or applying the readings to modern life.

Therefore, it is best not to isolate oneself, but to share in God's love with other believers.

It is not necessary to isolate yourself to read the bible. If that works for you in order to comprehend what you are reading then continue to do so. If you can read when others are talking or the TV is blairing the so be it.

The important thing is that you are reading the Bible and applying its teachings to your life.

Personal study should be done alone. If there is something you dont understand or need help with you can always go to other christians for guidance. Also the bible says that if a few gather in my name i will be in the midst. Church is also a great place for overall teaching.

no its not the right thing to do.... They only people who isolate themselves to others to read the bible are those who are ashamed to declare they are Christians....

No way! read it wherever you feel comfortable, actually, reading the Bible outside in the open could give you a great opportunity to share it with other non-believers. Read wherever you feel comfortable, but I do believe that you always can use a quiet time with God

I like reading alone but find I get the best picture of what is being said when I do it with one or two others. We all have different perceptions of things and it gives a rounder picture, more full.

The Bible says to have quiet time with Him and also says to fellowship and worship with other believers.

The bible should be studied, not just read through but I guess it'd be necessary not to have too many distractions... although not always "able".
Have to pray for no distractions.....
