I consider myself Agnostic, constantly seeking proof of Gods existence, yet all the help i ever get is reading questions to Atheists. Is this a type of prejudice categorizing?

All hail Isis

You say, "I consider myself Agnostic". Are you SURE???

I consider you an enemy of God, because you are pissing away the life He gave you to serve Him, and personkind, His children.

You WERE given enough evidence, by the world around you, but you choose to hide from the truth "a perpetual useless hung jury".

Like the proverbial elephant in the room, you sense He is real; but pretend you don't know God is there, so you can sin without facing judgement for now ... and saying "Oh, I didn't know".

Unfortunately, for you, EVERY thought you ever think is said (like a prayer) in God's face!!!

He knows what you REALLY know, and what you really think (even when you lie to yourself).

You are parked on the broken line between traffic going two ways, ready to cause an accident in BOTH lanes.

If you search your heart, you know that you KNOW! You are only fooling yourself!

At least with an atheist we can nail down the fact that he "cannot prove there is no God".

But you are too whimpy to hold to an argument that we might disprove. All I can say is "are you sure?"

Ultimately you say you don't know...and only God knows if that's not just a lie to excuse for "sewing more oats", but how do I reason with sommeone too lazy to choose who he will serve? Serve God. He loves you unconditionally!!!

This is mostly because not all agnostics are seeking the truth. The only agnostics who are seeking the truth are 'weak agnostics'- those who believe that it is possible to know (to within a reasonable degree of certainty) whether or not God exists, but that not enough evidence is currently available to make a judgement (although it might be in the future). Weak agnosticism is contrasted with strong agnosticism; strong agnostics believe that it is literally impossible to ever have enough evidence to make a judgement on the existence of God. Strong agnostics are not seeking the truth, on the contrary they have faith just as much as theists and strong atheists do. I myself am a weak atheist; I have made the judgement that God probably does not exist, but I consider it conceivable that the evidence could change in the future such that I would have to reverse this judgement. It seems to me that weak agnostics and weak atheists are about the only people who really seek the truth; there aren't very many theistic freethinkers.

Hun, I have news for you... you aren't really Agnostic. Being Agnostic means you neither deny nor admit the existence of a deity or deities as there is no way to know with certainty. If you are seeking proof, trust me, no one on Yahoo Answers is going to be able to provide that for you, however you can certainly peruse the R&S section and observe the answers and behavior of different religious users and see if any of them interest you.

It seems what you are actually conveying is that you are willing to hear proof if there is any... again just read the same answers that are written to the atheists. The "example of proof" or "persuasion" are the same coming from believers, no matter if you are atheist or agnostic.

Technically agnostic atheism is not a faith. It's a view of fact in the case of devout claims. Free will is incompatible with an omniscient author being. So a god judging folks centered off of the way it made them behave, and torturing them for eternity, is sadistic. In the Exodus fantasy, God murders the primary born of Egypt to punish Pharaoh... for having his center hardened by means of God. Yes, within the tale Pharaoh desired to unfastened the Jews, however God divinely transformed Pharaoh's brain after which punished Pharaoh for it. Fortunately for the Bronze Age Egyptians, none of that ever occurred. Judaism emerged indigenous to Palestine within the first millennium BCE, they usually had been under no circumstances slaves in Egypt. The normal notion that notion in God itself is what determines if anyone is tortured or rewarded for eternity wholly divorces the faith from any semblance of morality it could have had. That could be the conduct of a petty deity who valued sycophancy mainly different matters. If you seem on the 2 greatest religions, either one of them have whatever referred to as "the unforgivable sin". And in either one of them, it is a type of blasphemy. Not whatever that honestly hurts any individual. The worst factor you'll do consistent with Christianity and Islam is offend a supposedly all merciful and all strong being. I simplest singled out Christianity and Islam due to the fact that the ones are the 2 I am so much accustomed to. I'm distinct if we checked out many different religions, blasphemy could be unreasonably top on their "sin" record. The "God does not want a author" is designated pleading. The cosmological argument (the person who says the whole thing has a author, blah blah blah) isn't logically sound. Even if it is premises weren't unfounded, the "end" contradicts them. The motive why a significant philosopher will have to be an atheist is due to the fact that there is no proof that any gods exist (no longer simply the Christian god). It's as practical as that. You've already visible by way of one of the most 2 so much normal apologists' arguments (the cosmological argument), the following one will likely be Pascal's Wager (which in essence is a concession that there is no proof, however you will have to consider due to the fact that if you do not, then the boogeyman gets you). Try to not get too annoyed with folks due to the fact that of faith. A lot of folks are really first rate regardless of their atrocious faith (even though might be no longer as first rate as they probably might be, see your facets 7&10). If you are having crisis explaining your view of morality on your father and mother, then secular humanism could aid you uncover the phrases you want. They've as a rule been instructed a wide variety of nasty matters approximately it, however no longer what it honestly is.

I used to be an Agnostic. It's just that the Atheists are more numerous here than those who call themselves Agnostic.

If you are an Agnostic, then you don't know. I appreciate that. It's a more scientific approach to God than the Atheists will ever have.

If you want to know God, then He wants you. He is leading you to Him. The thing is, are you so humble to say that you don't know if there is a God, and yet not humble enough to see the truth? Don't worry, I was the same way. Once God got me to the point of hopelessness, I was ready to give Him a chance. And that might be the way you are going. How are things going?

A very good question. For many, complete unbelief is an alien concept and is feared. Agnostics do not claim complete unbelief and so are not as scary.

mrscottyl: Firstly, if you think the 'negative' of knowledge is unknowledgeable then you need to learn the meaning of negative. Secondly the a- means 'not' which is quite different to 'negative'. Thirdly gnosis means knowing, not knowledge. Agnostic literally means 'not knowing'. Which leads me to fourthly, 1:1 literal translations are not helpful.

"Agnostic" means that you think that the existence of deities is unknowable, that it is impossible to have absolute knowledge of the existence of god/s. "Seeking proof" doesn't make you an agnostic necessarily, it just makes you a... seeker, I guess.

Agnostic atheist, here :-).
_____-
Sorry. To actually answer your question: the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and in the minds of the Christians on Y!A, the atheists tend to be louder.

I consider myself Agnostic, but I've given up seeking any proof of gods existence, so not only do I not know if god exists, I don't care, either.

If you want more information on here and trying to find out if God exsists, you're not gonna find it here. Read the Bible, read the Quran, Torah, etc. Maybe you'll find what you are looking for. I suggest that once you find an error in a religion throw it out and look for another one.
