Last Friday me and my coworker split the money to buy chicken, chips, and bread. Both of us where going to eat the rest today for lunch. To our surprise it was all gone today. The yard man ate it all and he even invited his friend (our coworker too) to eat it with him. Quoting "There is no problem you can eat it too!"
I was taught not to fight for food, but I was also taught to respect even the soda of the other person. I never grab my coworkers soda or anything and If I do I make sure to give it to them next time.
I want to know what do you think of people like that? Who grab things w/o permission and things that aren't theirs.
I don't want to fight with him but I will put "My food"

It hasn't been the first time. One day I brought food and when I left from work I saw it so I was going to eat it the following day. So the next day at lunch time I went to get my food and it was gone I even saw the dirty dish on the table.
I went back to my desk with no food and I said to the same individual "I gues someone threw my food away, it's gone"
and he said "I ate it after you left! It was real good! I ate it with some salsa" I told him "That was my food for today" to which he replied "Naah, don't get sad"

Sad, is not the answer its mad!

What do you recommend I do, I don't want problems
But I do want him to know that I don't tolerate that! I find it disrespectful and want it to stop!

I agree with some of the other answers. If it were me, I'd give it 1 more try. Most definitely put you name and date on the bag and staple it shut. If you find that doesn't do the trick and this man gets into your lunch again, just politely approach him and tell him he owes you $5.00 for your lunch that he helped himself to, I'll bet he won't be doing that anymore. Or you could simply come out and say please don't eat my lunches anymore, I pack them for myself. Best of luck to you in getting this resolved.

I think people have forgotten there manners, I was always taught to ask Who's is this, and can I have some. Thats what should have happened. Downright RUDE.
Try not to leave food for the next day, instead bring it home, and then bring it back the next day. You can always use a thermal bag to keep it cool, if it has to be, and keep it next to you at work. And when your co-worker ask to go in with you on any food, Just say no, and explain why.

report him to human resources
eat his lunch
don't leave anything there for him to eat
get a few people from the office and confront him telling him not to do it or he will be reported.
you could also label your food and put exlax or lots of pepper on it and when eats it he won't wanna take your lunch again just don't forget and eat it yourself.

1. Don't leave food there anymore.
2. Report the situation to your boss.

You can't teach old dogs new tricks. Do not leave food at work any longer. Bring your food to work each day.

Start labelling your containers; and let the grub monster know that you have a canker sore that won't go away.

Tell him you don't like when people do that?

Many things adults do like that is when they weren't trained by their parents when they where kids and kept the habit till they got older.
