Yeah, all kids are insane - insanely cute, that is. The things that they say crack me up. You have to B real careful what you say around them. They will repeat it at the worst times.

We were talking about relatives who were coming over that weekend. We talked about one of the uncles who had bought a new toupee. So, the weekend comes & everyone is just relaxing. Here comes my little neice, who stares at her uncle strangely. He asks her what's wrong. .she says, really loud, "mommy & uncle m said you bought a real ugly rug. Can you bring it back to the store or did you walk on it already?"

I was learning how to drive, was pretty good at it, but couldn't quite make the sharp turns into the driveway. I was used to the city & parrallel parking. So, my wife & I took a drive to the market. On the way back, I turned too fast & missed the driveway & went up on the lawn. All the way from the house, I could hear my 5 year old nephew scream, at the top of his lungs, "hey mommy, friggin uncle m just drove on the lawn."

Nobody in the family talks like that!!! We had no idea where he had heard that "word." We let it slide that time, & fortunately he never used it again.

Anyway, children are insane, and it lasts until you go insane, which is pretty fast. I can prove it - we keep having another one, don't we? That's proof, right there - lol

lol...I love it!!!!

They are insane. How long does it last?

Either until they drive YOU insane or until THEY become parents & experience it themselves.

That's your reward— watching them with their children!

---------------

I LOVE children; and I love their "insanity."

The "insanity" I love most is when they are quite young & ask questions you either do not know the answer to, or do not know how to quite give the answer.

For example, one long, sleepless, night, the not yet 3 yr. old was wide awake, while I'm drifting off. Then he starts with the questions: "why is the sky blue?" Of course i know the answer, but how do explain the atmosphere to someone who is still 2 years + old? Especially when you are just about to fall asleep!!

I think he would be a TC in Philosophy — it must run in the family!!

Next question up was "where does the tide go when it goes out?" It went on this way for over an hour. Of course, I was wide awake when he finally quietly said, "night night," & fell asleep.

I sat up watching him in the dim light as I wrote all his questions down in my journal, as well as my answers. (Some of the answers would have to be adjusted in a few years.)

Much of their insanity ends up becoming the memories that make us smile. So cherish the insanity. You can sleep when you get very old ;-)

Absolutely not. Children are awesome. The ones who are messed up are the adults. The children will become insane too, by the teenage years.
Teach your children well and they will become intelligent, kind adults who are capable of giving and receiving love.

No children are not. It is just that they are innocent and their minds are pure which adults misunderstand as foolishness or insanity

Insanity is hereditary - you get it from your children.
