Once a cat starts peeing everywhere, you need to do a few things to retrain her.

First, confine her to a small-ish area where she has not peed before (like a bathroom or laundry room, maybe) with her bed, food and water, toys, and a clean litterbox. Keep the litterbox very clean. Spend time in 'her room' with her.

Next, thoroughly clean all areas where she has peed. Use an enzyme cleaner like Nature's Miracle. You'll need to make sure you get *all* of the urine odor out of everything.

Once everything is clean, and the cat is using her litterbox regularly, you can start letting her out for short periods. Supervise her closely. Play with her and give her lots of attention. Carry her to her litterbox if she looks like she's thinking about peeing.

Good Luck!

Don't give up on your cat especially since it sounds like she has a wonderful personality. Sometimes stress causes these lapses. Cats can become stressed just by something they see out of the window - a squirrel too close to the house, etc. The trick is to break the habit. Clean up any sign of urination thoroughly. Watch your cat closely. If you see her starting to mark something spray her with a shot of water. A great book for help with this sort of thing is Outwitting Cats: Tips, Tricks and Techniques for Persuading the Felines in Your Life That What You Want Is Also What They Want by Wendy Christensen. In this book they advocate retraining the cat by keeping her in a cage for a week. Be sure to rule out illness before retraining. Keep the cage in a room where the family is, don't isolate. Let your kitty out when you can supervise. Good luck with your kitty I hope it works out.

Try changing the litter box and the cat litter. She might have taken a dislike to it. And dump her in it after every meal. Also spray the areas she's peed or pooped in with a pesticide you use to kill insects. Cats hate that smell. Keep as many rooms as you can closed for now to restrict her movements. It might work. I said might because this is really strange. male cats may spray their scent even after being neutered but females are usually no problem at all. Anyway give it a go and don't be stingy with the pesticide. It will keep her away from the areas she's peed in.

Spaying her might have helped if she was marking her territory. Animals who are "fixed" are less inclined to mark up the house. They are no longer driven to find mates.

Now, it's just behavioral. You have to train her to go in the litterbox. This will take time and effort. Cats usually go right outside the box if it isn't big enough, or clean enough. Even if it has an offensive odor. Cats are particular animals.

You have to get rid of the underlying smell of urine in the house. Just because you can't smell it doesn't mean she can't. Use vinegar or another pet safe cleaning agent.

Good luck

You have to keep letting her know that this is not acceptable and that she needs to go into her box----is it roomy enough ? When you clean up make sure that she Knows that you are not happy. Hopefully she will learn. Meanwhile try different kitty litter maybe even sand. Also leave a little pepper in the places you don't want her to go or a cat repellent.

I had this problem once with the urinating. I kept trying different litter's until I tried the Scoop Away and that worked. You need to put a lot in the box.
Don't put the cat box near the food dish.

my cat would sometimes go around chewing / eating things she's not supposed to and then throws up. the problem is she never throws up in her litter box. (she pee and poops in there) after 5 - 6 times of throwing up on the carpet, i picked her up and put her right infront of the place she threw up and slapped her head a few times until she starts struggling and trying to free herself. i tested her by putting some plants there and she went to nibble on it. i went out later but when i came home she threw up inside her litter box.
so wat im trying to say is try punishing her
