If it's on one side only, it's a migraine. If it's across your forehead and the top of your head, it's a tension headache. If it's been over a week, I really think you should see your doctor. I really feel your pain. Oh, I just remembered that "Head On" really works, or so I've heard. As far as any tricks go: Make the L "Loser" sign with your hand streched out. Squeeze that area between your thumb and your index finger for for 10 seconds. Do it on both hands. I hope it magically works for you! GOOD LUCK!! :)

It's probably a sinus infection. They can often take hold when you've had a cold. See your doctor. You may need a very strong antibiotic because sinus infections can be stubborn. I've had a few that required more than one antibiotic to clear them up completely. Over-the counter sinus medication is just for cold and allergy symptoms and won't help if you have an infection.
These other people apparently have no experience with sinus infections, but given that you just a had a cold and you apparently don't have a history of migraines, it's by far the most likely explanation. Still, you should go see your doctor ASAP for a proper diagnosis.

Go to the ER and tell them how long it has been, sounds like a migraine from hell, I get them often, I use Imitrex and Aleve together. If it is a migraine, or something else (clot) they can help. I had to go in once, they gave me a shot after an MRI, and it worked within 15 minutes. OMG I was sooo thankful, I was painfree. I couldn't believe it.
I had already taken my Imitrex shot at home instead of the pills because it was so bad, but what they had totally worked. I was also barfing and couldn't stand up from the pain.
Coke and ice? that is a joke.

It's possible you have an alignment issue. Go to a chiropractor and see what that does.
Migraines are characterized by sensitivity to light, pain in behind the eyes, and nausea. I have headaches like you describe, and found that no pain pills helped. I went to the chiropractor, and with a huge adjustment, the headache was gone. It was amazing, less expensive that a hospital visit, and didn't have to get drugged up.

Headache is a symtom that something is wrong with your body system. Is a sign that you probably may be sick or something you need to visit your doctor as soon as possible, it is the specialist that can tell you what is axactly wrong with you since it has lasted for a week now. In the alternative, if you are the type that dont have enough sleep, you could experience that, therefore have a quality rest.

If you're sensitive to light, have nausea or vomiting no matter what you take it won't help. It sounds like a migraine and nothing over the counter will help. Call and make an appt with your family doctor and if you don't have one go to the emergency room.

GO to the hospital now. There could be something serious going on. Headaches dont last that long and they usually dont cause tears. There are a lot of things that I know it could be, but you really do need to get to the ER, skip the Doc go right to the hospital.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.
