Good question... when I first moved to Phoenix, AZ about 5 years ago, I wanted to test that theory (only not on a car), so I cracked an egg on the sidewalk outside of my apartment, and watched it cook... all the way through, it took about 10 minutes, and the high that day was 122, but it cooked. Of course, I didn't eat it.

I live in Phoenix also and I can verify izzy's story. Eggs will cook here in the summertime. May not be a good idea to eat them, though. The pavement has grit and it'd stick to the car or metal, with no grease.

If its hot enough you can...and by the way, you don't cook a fried egg. You have to fry a raw egg.
