For the dryness of your hair, use a hair serum first. For the volume I like to use Garnier Fructis xxl volumizing mousse. Put in your hair when it's wet but only on the roots. Then blow dry it and lift up at the roots with a brust. Also flip your hair over and blow dry it that way too. It'll give you lots more lift. When you're done styling it, flip it over again and use a light weight hair spray mist (a mist won't weight down your hair or make it feel nasty.).

I've got very dry, thick, wavy hair that tends to frizz in the summer. I've tried just about everything, including all the Garnier, Nexxus, Redken and Paul Mitchell volume creams, but the best product I've found so far is John Frieda's FrizzEase "DownPlay". It's a clear silicone-based liquid shine gel but, unlike most of the others, it doesn't look oily or sticky or weigh your hair down. It's also unscented and it leaves your hair feeling soft and natural. Don't be afraid to use a lot of it if your hair is thick. You can just let your hair air dry naturally, though even with a blow-dry it will look shiny -- I scrunch mine a little on top for lift and blow dry my bangs with a comb to straighten them. You can get it for under $6 in most large drugstores. I've recommended it to several friends and they like it too.
Good stuff.

If you like slightly stiffer body and hold (that still feels natural) I recommend Redken No. 5 "straight" which is a thicker gel. Scrunch your hair with clips and then let it dry naturally. It will feel a little stiff at first, but when you brush it out it will be soft and full. It's a bit more expensive and doesn't give quite as much shine as Downplay.

blow drying actual damages the hair by way of fact you're putting warmth onto the hair, which reasons cut up ends yet you are going to be able to desire to apply the chilly putting on the hair dryer.. i think of it purely takes longer =] as for products, they're especially hair friendly as long as you wash your hair in many cases.

Try Hairspray. Tilt your head down and spray at the roots.
