I am 14 weeks pregnant and have a doctor's check up today...and will hear the heart beat. I have decided not to learn the gender but am curious if anyone has found this to be true. My daughter's heart rate was 155 the entire pregnancy.

I've seen it to be mostly true but you know of course that every pregnancy is different.

I'd be kind of anxious to find out, but hopefully it will be an interesting and fun experience to keep guessing. Have fun at your appointment today!

It can determine the sex it depends, my sister had two girls both with higher heart beats such as 150 and up, then she had a boy 130. I to had a boy and his heart beat was around 130 140 at the most. They say the lower the heart rate you'll have a boy, the faster your having a girl. Also if your showing now, if your caring higher in your abdomen and more round like a basketball your having a girl. If your carrying lower and shaped more like a football then your having a boy! Which has proved true with my sister and I so good luck!

Health aides used to say the faster it beats, the more likely it's a boy, but that's not always true. My daughter had a high heartbeat many times toward the end. She came out a girl. Oddly enough, she was thought to be a boy earlier in the pregnancy by the doctor who read the ultrasound. Hmm.

I've always heard that if it was 140 and below it is a boy
141 and above its a girl.

For my daughter it was true, her heart beat stayed between 160-180. This time I'm hoping its false lol I want a boy and the heart beat is staying around 150.

Its a wives tale.

I say no. Dr told me that the faster the heart rate it would be a girl and the slower ones are boys. My son's heart rate was alway over 150 the whole pregnancy until the end.

Completely false. My 1st child ( girl ) had a heartbeat that stayed around 155 also. My 2nd child (girl) had a heartbeat around 135- 140. My 3rd and 4th children ( Twin Girls) One had a heartbeat around 155- 160 while the other had one around 140-145. I asked the ultrasound tech. And she said you can never tell by the heartbeat.

That's an old wives tale... They say a girl's heartrate will be faster, well, based on that, they said that I would have a daughter and not a son... Then when I was at 5 months, they were like, oh well, what do you know, it has a little unit. Yep, you guessed it, he was a boy!

a 1993 study at the University of Kentucky that concluded that the fetal heartbeat could be used to correctly predict the sex of 91% of male fetuses and 74% of female fetuses. Every other study conducted before or since has reached the exact opposite conclusion — that the fetal heart-rate can't be used to predict the sex of your baby.

It's an old wives tale, but girls do tend to have a faster heartbeat than boys. My daughter was always around 160 and my son was always around 145.

i have found it to be true, even though the dr will tell you not to rely on it. girls heartbeats are usually higher (145 bpm) while boys are slower. (125 bpm). also just for fun i used the chinese gender predictor calendar(you can find it on the internet) and it was right with both of my children as well as all of my friends. it is based on the mothers age & the month of conception, check it out.
