In Vietnam we used to ask each other:

1. Who would you trust with a secret?

2. Who would you trust with your car keys?

3. Who will you trust when the going gets tough?

I haven't felt a need to trust civilians. I remember my shipmates from my 3 sub crews and these guys were the best. But we were of the same cloth.
Now since I retired I noticed people are so different it's part of why life is so interesting (hard, difficult, wonderful). It takes time or intense events to produce trust.
I live with no secrets; well if it came down to it I can loss my truck; when the going gets tough I trust military minded/trained people. Because there is no time for touchy feely seminars or windows computer presentations - swift action will be needed. Courage and a backbone.

1. With my secrets, most of my good friends. With a friends secret, nobody. That would be a betrayal of trust.
2. I have great insurance, and it is just a thing, so just about anyone who is sober, has a valid license and needs a car.
3. Only someone who has shown honor and integrity with their actions and words. I have people that I care very much for, but they just might cut and run when the going gets tough. Some that I have heard stories of from my husband and other Vets, are tried and true people of valor. Put one of them at my back, and we will introduce ourselves when the dust settles.

1.)I avoid keeping secrets for myself, but if someone else asked me to keep a secret, I wouldn't trust anyone with it. Not even the person that told it to me.

2.)Anyone in the world. I hardly drive the damn thing anyway.

3.)Whoever's available. The type that would stab you in the back usually wait until you're out of the brier patch to screw you over. As long as the going is tough, you're probably safe.

His picture is in the Avatar. He nevers tells a secret. He stays in the car with my keys when we go to the store and he always cheers me up when I feel down.

As Psalm 118:8 states:
It is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in man.
