In those days for non roman citizens humiliation, torture, persecution and eventually death were the normal life style. The apostles weren't that much different except their humiliation, torture, persecution and evetually death were better documented. Your average Thracian, Celt, Frank or Gaul had it just as bad.

Do you have evidence that they did? Can you verify that they were the only group in history to suffer for their ideals? Did they really have a choice, in that once they were arrested, did they have the option to recant?
While an inspirational thought, it is lacking as evidence. Sorry to be so blunt here but many religions and ideologies can make similar claims. For example many of the cultures in South America participated in sacrificial combat i.e. they volunteered to fight to the death as a sacrifice, throw themselves off of cliffs or many other ways of dieing.

Your question has two parts. The first deals with whether or not it is a lie. To answer that question, you must ask whether man would lie, more specifically whether the religious would lie, and then ask whether a religious person would lie to you?
Having has this happen to me, and witnessed it happen to many others, I think the answer to that question is yes to all three.
Then ask yourself, does a religion become more trustworthry because a religious person is willing to die for it? In case you didn't notice, this is the eve of 9-11, when religious people sacrificed their lives in the name of their religion to bring down the WTC. In all honesty, your question couldn't have been more poorly timed. Go watch TV reruns of the planes crashing into the WTC and tell me if islam is any more valid just becuase muslims died for their faith.
That people lie and die for their faith is nothing but an indication of insanity.

Paul did it to make sure the message of Jesus to the Gentiles was misguided enough to guarantee the preservation of the covenant with the Jews who did not accept Jesus.
Rabbi Saul sacrificed his life to save the status of Judaism.

Clearly, Jesus did exist in human form during their time.
Before He existed with the Father, the one true God. Since, He continues to exist. He is in my daily life.
Why would they? Because they saw the truth and knew that the physical sufferings and abuse would be just a moment in time compared to the eternal soul.

interior the days of the previous testomony as a manner to precise regret you had to pass to the alters with a proper sacrafice. no longer along with your dirtiest lamest lamb, yet along with your maximum appealing, cleaniest lamb. no longer with the least needed however the main coveted. With Jesus's torture and demise on the pass he made the perfect Sacrafice for under he ought to try this. He grow to be the sole organic and holy sacrafice. Jesus had to die on the pass to fullfill the Bible Prophephy's. It grow to be written and so it grow to be finished. He grow to be pierced for our transgressions, he grow to be overwhelmed for our inequities. He bore our sins interior the thorns upon his head and the nails in his ft and palms. The question to you would be? could you in simple terms shop on with him 2000 years later had he no longer been cruicified and rose back 3 days later. those issues have been prophesized and so as that they grew to become. study the e book of Isiah the punishment that introduced us peace grow to be upon him and by way of him on my own are we saved. great question, and in the present day and consistently we ought to consistently mirror upon the perfect sacrafice that offered our forgiveness and salvation. The previous testomony mentioned that Christ could die among Thieves and be buried with the Kings. He grow to be hung between 2 thieves and buried in a tomb above floor, perserved in a one hundred kilos of aloe and Myrhh. The prophecys have been fulfilled and diverse have been saved that formerly this occurance did no longer have confidence, including the Roman Soldier on the foot of the pass.

Exactly! And they were blessed to be able to walk with HIM, talk, learn and see His miracles first hand. Much easier, then, evidently, to believe then now, for some. Our world is filled with too many 'doubting Thomases'.
