To be absent form the body is to be present with the Lord. Also Revelation speaks of the martyrs who are in Heaven awaiting His return.
Also you are asking a question that can go much deeper like.... once you are with the Lord you are out of this time and into eternity. So if you die today and I die 100 yrs from now how long were you there before I got there? (No offense I dont want you to die today , just an example.)Time doesn't exist in eternity. But that is for the philosophy section. Or is it?

Eh? Is the Lord is Heaven? And to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord ( 2 Corinthians 5:6 ) What does that mean if it does mean that I would be in Heaven?
If you mean that I will spent eternity there, then I would agree, eternity will be spent on New Earth, in New Jerusalem.

Bc Christendom does the will of its father, the Devil.
Bc ppl like having their ears tickled
Bc ppl will turn their ears away from the truth.
2 Tim 4:3,4:
"For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumlate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn away from the truth,
whereas they will be turned aside to false stories."
Can it be any clearer?
What is the "healthful teaching" ?
The truth about the MORTAL SOUL.
Gen 2:2 "man came to be a living soul"
We are Not Immortal.
Eze 18:4 "the soul itself that is sinning will die"
What is "their own desires" ?
John 8:44 "you wish to do desires of your father the Devil"
1 Tim 6:9 "many senseless and hurtful desires"
2 Pet 3:3 "proceeding according to their own desires"
To be told what they want to hear,
rather than the truth--healthful teaching.
What is "accumlate teachers for themselves" ?
Is it Not true, that the church congregation picks & chooses its own leader (pastor, rev., etc...)
God's own word says:
"they will turn aside from the truth,"
what is this 'truth' ?
That when we die we "return to the dust from where we came"
"man came to be a living soul"--Gen 2:2.
"the soul itself that is sinning will die."--Eze 18:4
What are the "false stories" that ppl turn to?
That when u die u either go to heaven or hell.
God will redeem my soul from Sheol [Grave]--Ps 49:15.
"period of time"--does this not imply that afterward,
this 'period of time' the truth will have 'light' shed upon it.
Yes.
2 Tim 4:3,4
Could be applied to more than just 1 falsehood of Christendom.
Just that this is pertaining to the Q asked.

....2 Corinthians 5:1-8...
2Co 5:1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
2Co 5:2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
2Co 5:3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
2Co 5:4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
2Co 5:5 Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
2Co 5:6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.
2Co 5:7 We live by faith, not by sight.
2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
Where is the Lord's home?
He sits in His throne at the right hand of the father in heaven... Revelation 3:21
Matthew 26:64
“Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

It is part of the heathen religion so many have accepted, and managed to convince themselves it is the true faith. Scripture tells us it is appointed to every many once to die, and after that the judgement, and then the resurrection-- either to life, or to death. (like Sunday worship, pig eating, and so many other things that the Scripture tells us not to do, and people want to do them anyway)

Because Fundies are brainwashed to believe that: 1) humans are inherently bad and imperfect 2) their physical life is something to "sacrifice" (anything pleasurable should be avoided) in the name of "god" and 3) that the only thing that is really important is the "eternal afterlife" ("heaven" and all the rest of it).

i'm hoping you're asking a severe question via fact one in each of our church participants lost his conflict with maximum cancers some month in the past. all of us wept via fact it HURTS, emotionally, to make certain somebody's physique mendacity in a coffin. That man or woman purely isn't heard anymore, no could cook dinner nutrients, etc. he or she is long previous--consequently, a costly saint of God who went residing house to be with Jesus; his spouse, dropping her suitable pal; his daughters, dropping their dad; grandchildren who will ask your self why Grandpa won't be in a position to come and play anymore. those are deep, deep wounds for all events and therapeutic will take time. as properly, Jesus Himself wept at Lazarus' tomb (did you study John financial disaster 11?) will we no longer agree that sometimes weeping is wise and cathartic? Now as to the verses you quoted, they are certainly stimulated Scripture. the undertaking is that the Psalm refers to God's dealing with Israel, interior the land, under no circumstances to the Church. you're additionally suitable in quoting John 5:28-29. those do consult with the resurrection--a parallel to Daniel 12 which describes the comparable factor. the undertaking it fairly is that right now, the Church and the Rapture weren't yet in view. This improve right into a "secret", as Paul calls it, or a secret that hadn't yet been printed.--the progressive revelation got here later. We Christians firmly have faith that there will be a resurrection--fairly 3. the 1st will ensue as area of the Rapture IAW a million Thessalonians 4:13-18. the place the lifeless in Christ will upward thrust first and then the residing saints are going to be caught up jointly. the subsequent resurrection is for previous testomony saints whilst Jesus comes back to this earth to reign as king of kings for one thousand years. examine Daniel 2, 7, and 12 with Revelation 19. those believers would be resurrected as a manner to flow into the Millennial Kingdom. The final resurrection would be one thousand years later whilst the unsaved lifeless would be raised and judged and then forged into the lake of hearth.

Its in the bible, just look.....
Daniel 7:27:
27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.'
Matthew 7:21
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Romans 10:3-13:
3Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.
4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'[ (that is, to bring Christ down)
7"or 'Who will descend into the deep? (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
8But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:
9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,
13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
