I think I maybe mean initiated? My husband was asked to take photos of some members being instituted, but I think they probably mean initiated?

The question does not make sense to me.

Catholics are initiated. The Sacraments of initiation are Baptism, Communion (Eucharist), and Confirmation.

Sacraments are instituted by Christ and are outward signs of an inward grace.

Hope this helps. If this is not your question, please clarify.

Update: Initiation generally means baptism. However, if the person was previously baptized in any Christian faith "in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit," then it could mean that they are being received into the Catholic Church and receiving Communion (Eucharist).

I hope this helps. God bless you.

A Catholic is initiated into the Catholic Church be receiving the three sacraments of initiation:
+ Baptism
+ Confirmation
+ Eucharist

For adult converts, this is the culmination of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and usually happens all during the same Easter Vigil Mass on the night before Easter.

With love in Christ.

I think you mean incorporated into the Mystical body of Christ. Christ is the head of the church, and we are members of the body.We become a member of this body via baptism, the gateway sacrament of the Catholic church.

The word instituted could also refer to Christ establishing something, like the seven sacraments of the Catholic church.

Maybe the word was "installed"? They use that word when a bishop is "promoted" so to speak. He is "installed".
Another term might be "investiture". As when a priest is "invested" to the level of Monsignor.
