a vet can relocate the shoulder on the dog. Do not attempt to do it yourself, as you can seriously injure your dog.

Ok, tonight there is a serious amound of uneducated people around, why in earth would you put to sleep a dog who had a dislocated shoulder?
Just take the dog to the Vet and get them to pop it back in.

Dog bandages are best changed every three days or so - your vet is right in that they can get pressure sores, and it is good to check underneath the bandage to make sure the skin isn't getting chafed. Your poor dog's shoulder is probably very sore, so manipulating it once the bandage is off, to check how well it is healing, would hurt him. Even the act of taking the bandage off can be very stressful for him. Most dogs in this case are sedated so they lie still - it means the bandage can be changed much quicker, put on a lot neater, and the leg checked without causing him pain or worry. It will be a sedation he is getting, rather than a general anaesthetic - an injection into the mucle to make him sleepy enough for the work to be done. We see many dogs each week for bandage changes for various reasons, and unless they are very calm and the wound is not sore, we would sedate them - it makes it a lot easier on the dogs if everything is done when they are snoozing!

Dislocated shoulder?? How you figure?? You should take your dog to the vet and get the dog treated properly. If you know nothing about dogs and shoulders.. and you are not a vet, then it's a good idea to leave it to those who know...
Put her down?? You'll pay to put her down, but you won't go to the vet to get her treated properly?? YIKES.. Won any Pet Owner of the year awards lately??
