I love God because he first loved me! He saw it fit to spare me from the torture of hells fire and made a way for me to be saved. All the blessings that come with serving a great God are just an added bonus! : D

I completely agree. I love God for who He is and for what He does for myself. Yes we thank Him when things go our way, but we should not complain to Him. Every time I feel down about a situation. I ask myself why do I have to suffer so much. That makes me feel bad because the first thing I think of is how Jesus suffered and everything He went through to absolve us of our sins. I immediately stop questioning why I am going through whatever it is at that moment. Nobody has sacrificed like Jesus did. We should thank Him everyday for giving us life and a chance to be with Him in Heaven.
I love God for who he is because He is a loving parent to us. He wants all of us to be with Him. Jesus taught His word, and His word is good. All of Jesus' teachings are an inspiration, and they should be followed through by everbody. I also love God for what He does for me. I feel so blessed. I have 2 wonderful daughters and an amazing fiance. Life could not be any better. I have a wonderful family as well that support me in everything I do.

I agree with you 100%. Truly when blessings come our way we are grateful to God. But when trials come, some, blame God and some turn away from God. We must always meditate God's faithfulness to us in order to be grateful to Him all the time. God loves even the atheists here.

Good question
Typically I pray to give thanks and I tell him I trust him. I firmly believe God does not give us more than we can handle so I do not ask that anything be changed.
I do not really complain but I do review what's going on (talk to him) I ask for help to remove negative thoughts and for help in not struggling to 'take' control. Rather to accept everything as it is because it is as it should be.
God is good all the time even when the times seem bad.

I'm quite the opposite. I thank God when things are not going the greatest because of what he is about to do.
I love him for both reasons.

I love GOD for who he is and for what he has done for me. I love GOD because he has lifted me out of a life of self will run riot into a life of wondrous glory. My trials and tribulations today are not without meaning and I learn more from bad times then times of blessing.
Praise GOD!

I love God for what he is and who he is.I also love God because he first loved me, the Bible says "while we were yet sinners Christ died for us" That is unconditional love and Jesus is the personification of that Love. This is why I love him. When we follow his will in our lives ,then we receive the benefits also,he also gives us what we ask,"No good thing will he withhold from the righteous man."

I hope I love God for Himself, and not for His gifts to me.
There's the old question: Do you seek the God of consolations, or the consolations of God?
Lots and lots of people clearly think of God as this big asperin in the sky; just swallow with a glass of water and all your existential aches will go away. I watch them become frustrated as soon as their good feelings of being "saved" starts to ebb. I watch them start to doubt God's presence or existence as soon as their spiritual "high" starts to develop into something more mature. It's like a kid assuming that Daddy doesn't love him anymore as soon as the candy is all gone. That must make God very sad, I think.
Like any parent, God wants us to love Him for who He is -- not for the warm fuzzies He can give us.

I love God for who He is and and what He does for us. God is so gracious and merciful that he allows good and bad things to happen to us. He allows the bad things to happen so we may grow as individuals, grow in faith, and appreciate the things we already have. He is our true Father, and like a good father, he rewards us and punishes us so we can grow.

I guess quite honestly, because of what he's done for me...
- I mean if it weren't for Jesus dieing on the cross, than I'd be up the creek without a paddle...
- and also for who he is...Afterall, he shows an extreme amount of patience, and is very merciful.
I don't find myself complaining "about" him to him... I find myself complaining about me to him...I'm actually very grateful for what he's done; and quite honestly wonder at times, why He doesn't just 'cut his losses.'
(We're a pretty wretched group of followers, if you ask me.)
