My mother had a pulmonary embolism and died for a few minutes. She was recessitated, but layed in a coma for 2 weeks. What happened to her soul?? Was her soul intact in heaven or was she in limbo of some sort, because she suffered parts of her brain being dead?

As a Buddhist, we believe the mind goes on, not a "soul" as one is generally spoken about. We believe mind functions, in this life, only as well as the body, and sensory organs do. So her mind was likely in whatever state it could be given the causes and conditions of her life that cause her to understand things certain ways and/or to behave.
