...how come is he not able to change the destiny of being crucified, knowing well that if the Romans manage to crucify him, then the charges the Pharisees and the Rabbis level against him that he is a false prophet is true then? Do you think it is enjoyable being crucified?

Even if he is not able to prevent being crucified, surely he can make God forgive Adam's sin for eating the apple, so that Christ himself doesn't need to be the crucified victim? And Christ must be able to do this, cos isn't he the Son of God and God at the same time? Or is Christ unable to, cos he is not as powerful as God the Father? This is confusing...

If God's will be done, isn't it Christ's will also, being God Himself. If the Father's will must take place instead of the Son's, doesn't that make the Father superior than the Son, and both can't be on equal footing?

If some stranger came up to you and said he was God what do you think would happen? It is ridiculous to think that a human being can be God.

WAUW that is a good question. I'm sorry if my english is not that good but here it goes!

Adam ate the apple and that's what introduced free will and sin. God could not forgive his sin without the ultimate sacrifice! Which was His own Sun's crucification. This is the ultimate sacrifice for us humans to be able to be forgiven for our sins. All of us.

You also ask if God is just as powerful as Jesus. You are confused because you are thinking of 3 separate Gods. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not separate but 1! They are 1 but they do 3 different works. The Holy Spirit is the God that takes care of YOU here on EARTH! Jesus helps you if you need Him and will always be ready for you and made it possible to communicate to God the Father. God watches over you in every step that you take. Together they are 1. If you look at it as if you are talking over a phone with God the Father. Than The holy spirit is the phone at your side Jesus is the wire and God is talking to you through the Bible.

I hope it helped.

Jesus was perfectly able to prevent the crucifixion, but...THAT'S WHAT HE CAME HERE TO DO!
Jesus made the ultimate and perfect sacrifice so that we could live under a fufilled law rather than being forced to go to God through a priest (along with all the high-maintenance upkeep of the priest 'clan')

No, it is not enjoyable to be crucified.

Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.

It is a bit confusing. Christ is God, the Father is God and the Holy Spirit is God, yet they are three distinct persons. Jesus allowed Himself to be crucified to obey Scripture. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit(Trinity) require a blood sacrifice for the remission of sins. They are all in total agreement with this. Jesus allowed Himself to be crucified to obey His law. He will not break His own law.

God is capable of anything. He had to send a part of himself(his son) down to earth as a human to be crucified to rid us of our sins past and our sins future.God knows there is no human that can follow his simple rules and be totally righteous and sin free. This is why just forgiving Adam wasn't going to be good enough. There were a lot of sacrifices before Jesus but they didn't forgive us our sins they only covered them. When God had to watch a part of himself be crucified for our sins this was the ultimate sacrifice, and yes I'm sure it was more difficult than humans can imagine for him to watch this but that's how he wanted to show us that he really, really loves us.

According to Christianity Jesus' whole purpose on earth was to be crucified to forgive sins. He literally want to be crucified MORE OR LESS, because he says he knew this was why he was here but he also cried in the gardens asking God if he could let it pass. I could never understand why people say he is both the son of God & God, because he said on the cross Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani? Which means My God, My God why have you forsaken me? So if he was also God it would mean Me why have you forsaken Me?

Jesus submitted Himself to the will of the Father in being crucified. He knew it would be painful. He even asked, if it were possible, that He not have to go through it. It was necessary, though, and so He did it.

As to why it was necessary, and why God couldn't just forgive the sins - the Old Testament makes it clear that, without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. I honestly don't know why God set things up like that, but He did, and He doesn't violate His own character by ignoring His own rules. God therefore arranged for the shedding of blood - His own blood - to forgive the sins that couldn't be forgiven any other way. In some sense, then, you could say that, while He couldn't just forgive the debt, He could arrange to be the One to pay it.

Any help?

Regarding your addition: No, dear. Christ subordinated Himself to the Father for the period necessary to accomplish the substitutionary death and atonement. Christ had to be fully God to accomplish His mission, but He had to be separated from God the Father for the same reason - no sinful thing can enter the Presence, and Christ had to take on our sins to expiate them. I'm sure it sounds circular, and it is - but it's also necessary for humankind to be reconciled to God.

Jesus could have asked the Father to send a legion of angels to save him from death on the cross but he didn´t because he came to the world to redeem us, which means He freely decided to satisfy God the Father by shedding his own pure and spotless blood and thus gave us free access to God.
Christ is the second person of the Trinity, God incarnated who came to this world out of sheer love of The Father. This is a mistery of LOVE. Don´t despise it .Try to learn something about it -after all, the redemption of the human race is the most important historical fact and your acceptance or denial of it will determine your eternal fate.

It is confusing and so much "why didn't HE do this instead?" and we may not know all the answers, but don't you think the crucifixion showed God's people on earth, "Here, I am making the ultimate sacrifice for mankind..you..to show you I am a loving God, that I will show you I am giving you my son to ultimately cleanse you of all sin and become one with God if you so choose." And Jesus knew what His Father was doing and why, but didn't stop Him from saying, "let this cup pass from Me, Father, if it be Thy will." Jesus knew how horrible the crucifixion would be, but was willing, also to trust in the Father and put faith in Him that He knew what He was doing and that He was doing it for US! And didn't Jesus say He had no power of His own? It all came from His Father?

christ told god he didnt want to die on the cross in the garden of gethsemane the night before he was arrested.but he also said that god's will be done, and not his. jesus knew that the only way to save man from the sin that he had wrought upon himself with adam and eve was to die. the penalty for sin is death, but jesus cheated death by dying on the cross. by leading a perfect life without sin, and yet he still died, he broke sin's curse upon the world. jesus didnt enjoy being crucified, but he knew that was his whole purpose for living.

as to christ being god and the son of god, thats kinda hard. jesus was 100% god and 100% man. he performed miraculous events by the power of god, through god. he could have saved himself from the cross, raining fire down upon his killers, but if he did, we would still be burning bulls and doves in sacrifice to god

God didn't intervene in the free will of man when Christ was crucified. The 'original sin' concept is false. The creation story of the Bible is incomplete and misleading.

When Christ was on earth, he didn't have all of His powers, because he was human.
