Firstly. The answer to your original question. A vet will give the dog an injection. The dog just drifts off to sleep and then it dies. There is NO PAIN involved, at all. The method you describe, would be extremely cruel! Imagine the fear and panic a dog would feel?? Secondly. Because, you have so many dogs. You have a 'pack'. And they are all trying to find their place in the pack, to find top dog etc. Which is why they fight. They should ALL be trained to respond to commands. You should have a notice on your fence. To say, dogs are roaming free. If your dog is jumping the fence, then it is not high enough? Alot of this behaviour, is lack of training. You don't seem to have much control over these dogs. I think you need some expert advice. So try to find a good dog trainer. And talk to dog rescues and your vet. And see if they can help you before it turns into a very dangerous situation.

Instead of trying something that upsetting/painful to the dog, try something cheaper; Try getting some boards and fixing them along the bottom of your fence, so that your dogs can do longer climb it. Plastic ones will also be slippery, so if they attempt to jump, they'll just slide back down, without hurting themselves or getting splinters. If that is not an option, try one of those barrier-free containment devices. You could put them around the perimeter of your yard, just inside of the fence. They stay inside, but aren't put through nasty shocks...and everybody stays happy!

I just have to ask...are the neutered? Intact males will often do just about anything to get away and search for females (including go right through an electric fence, despite the shock), especially if there is one in the neighborhood in heat. Oftentimes, neutering can reduce or completely eliminate the desire to roam. If they are intact, you might want to consider allowing them to live lives free of this constant distraction by having the neutered.

A dog training collar that delivers a small shock
very effective prices range from 100 to 400 which basically is related to distance from dog collar to hand held unit. If watching dog constantly is a problem, then try invisible fence
don't know prices though. I've heard their very good also, hope this helps p.s. nodesignerdo
gs 4 me stop being a bleeding heart these collars are not cruel i've held them in my hand at highest level and it feels like sticking your tongue on a 9 volt battery! the reason they work is because the dog feels discomfort when he has done something he should'nt! these things should be used by all why? because i've seen people beating the sh%$ out of their dogs for misbehaving these collars are a god send as they alleviate cruelty to animals

I assume you mean an invisible fence-never had one myself, but I've witnessed the effectivness and they work awesome. I heard they cost around 200 USD for the initial fence and one collar & a bit more for the extra collar. Please whatever you do- if you decide to chain the dogs- make sure they are well away from the fence. I'll never forget my mom's friend and her 2 beagles when I was a kid. She was devastated when the dogs hung themselves after she chained them to prevent the climbing, and put them to close to the fence.

I do not use an electric fence but several people in my neighborhood do. They seem to work.

Are your dogs neutered? If not getting them neutered will probably help. Electronic fences to not usually work... I have never seen a dog that could not outsmart them. Training them not to jump the fence could also help.

almost any brand of electric fence will work, Use quality insulators and make sure you have the system with a proper ground and very important, make very sure you have the insulators and wire so that the wire does not ground out.
I dont' recall the shocker I use, but it is for dogs and it delivers a horrible sting when I'm wearing tennis shoes, my dog touched once and never gets close again
and yes, I get into it on a frequent basis, so I know it is working
