"The Depo shot is supposed to stop you from ovulating. But since your body still produces other hormones this is why you still can bleed. It also is supposed to thicken and alter the cervical mucus making it harder for an embryo or sperm to survive. It is possible to get a period and bleed without ovulating. "

I took a total of 3 DEPO shots and I bled for 9 months straight! It never stopped so I had to quit taking the shot. It does that to some women.

Your body needs to get use to it.....your going to be off for the first 3 to 9 months. Some people bleed the whole time on it some never get periods and some bleed when its time to get a new shot. Every one reacts to it differently. Don't worry to much when they 3 months is up and its time to get a new shot just remember to bring any concerns up to your Dr.

I would never reccomend that to anybody, i was on the depo and i bled for the whole three months , gained weight and got really bad headaches and cramps so i never went back to get it again but if you want a good birth control, i use the Evra it is a birth control patch and i love it, never had any problems

My daughter had it. No period for 6 months, but had it for 3 months straight after. She was really worried when she found out one of the side effects is sterility, which they didn't tell her about.
Fortunately she's not and has 4 beautiful kids.
I'm all for guys having a shot instead. What's the hold up?
They should've found one by now, don't you think?
