I have 3 sons, and a daughter. I let my boys pee outside, becase I think it's fine. I haven't been letting my daughter pee outside, because she's a girl, but when she sees her brothers pee outside, she says she really wants to. She doesn't evenknow how to pee outside. Should I show her, and let her do it anytime she wants? I'm fine if it's for a camping trip, or something, but I don't know if I should let her do it anytime she wants. What do you think?

I would suggest you stop your boys from peeing outside instead of letting her pee outside.

What will you feel or think or respond to other concerned parents..when at the park, or school one day she just starts peeing outside?

I know you shouldn't have to deal with other parents thoughts and feelings but when it comes to naked parts in public, it is kind of a tough issue to avoid not commenting on - it could make other parents worried there children will do it as well (I would be upset if my daughter learned to pee outside cause of some other kid) also the concern of sexual predators - its a small chance but you never know wo could be lurking and watching your daughter or even your sons when they stop to pee outside.

Just my opinion, hopefully it helps you decide what to do and what is best for you and yours family

Good luck

I don't think you should let your daughter pee outside. I have 4 boys and they all pee outside, well the two oldest are too old now but they pee outside when camping and if they are alone in the yard. My two little ones (age 5) still pee outside when needed but I make sure they go into the woods and go against a tree so they are blocked from view. I think it's fine for boys to pee outside but not for girls. I've seen little girls squatting in the grass for the public to see and then they get all their clothes wet with pee, or I've seen moms take off their clothes in public because they don't want them peeing on their clothes. It's a lot neater for boys to just dash off to the side, hidden from all view, unzip quick, have a pee, and be done with it. It also depends on the age of the girl. But I can understand her wanting to go outside when she sees her brothers.

There is a thing a girl invented called a "she-wee", which is a plastic scoop thing which fits in a handbag and allows a girl to pee standing up like a guy. Only works with trousers though. Check it out on the internet by googleing it. Some female police use it when on duty.

i would say ahead and let your daughter pee outside. Im the only son my parents had and i was raised with 5 sisters and we all would pee outside even mom and dad would pee outside. My sisters never went to the bathroom at home unless they were outside then they would pee and also take a dump outside. We lived out in the country though. The house i grew up in didnt have a toilet in the bathroom. I was raised without a toilet in the house i grew up in so i was taught to pee and take a dump outside or in a bucket in the house considering i grew up out in the country and growing up with 4 sisters and my parents.

I dont think there is any harm in takin a pee outside, i remember as a kid if i had to wait for my mum to come home and no1 else was home i would go somewhere discreet in the backyard and pee,
Just think of all that water you would be saving from flushing, by just goin outside!

My dad always said "what is fair for one is fair for all" but I personally don't think you should be letting any of your kids pee outside. If you are camping or there is no bathroom fine, but if there is one available they should be using it boy or girl. What about when they go to other peoples houses, I would not be happy if someones kid just started peeing outside at my house regardless of their gender.

I think it all depends on the age. If she is being toilet trained and you're afraid she'll have an accident it's ok to teach her how to pee outside. Otherwise it's inappropriate (for boys as well).
