For me I like to see friendship first. I don't want to jump into anything not knowing the guy well enough and know where he is coming from. I have made the mistake before. I might not be wanting to just to take a chance but it is also being careful and weighing the pros and cons of any relationship.

Well, well. What a good question. I am a bit boggled by this myself and I'm female! lol. (just goes to show you that we cannot even figure ourselves out).

Since you asked a good, honest question, I'll try to give you a good, honest answer.
No, love and romance are not the same thing. I think that romance is sort of like a verb - it's what you do...you "romance" her. There are many ways to do this - from the simple like cooking dinner or the complicated like planning a surprise getaway. Romance are gestures that you make toward her to let her know that you love her and care about her.
Love on the other hand is just straight up, unbridled feelings. It's sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings with her; it's sacrificing time with your friends to be with her if she needs you; it's waking up every day and having her the first thing on your mind as well as the last thing on your mind when you go to sleep. It's missing her if she's gone for only a day....it's longing to hear her voice just because.
I guess they do cross. While you are romancing her, it's totally possible for all the love you have for her to shine though uninhibited. Why do they cross? I have no idea. I guess it's the moment when two people are SO head-over-heels for one another, there is nothing else left but love.

(I hope that helpled!)

Totally different if you ask me. I love my mom and my brother and even my kids at school (a teacher). If I had children, I would love them too. I love my husband in the same way and in a romantic way. I think that he treats me with love when he cooks dinner for me, etc. You can have love without romance.

Romance is all the sweet things that he does for me because he is "in love" with me. Buy me jewelry for our anniversary, take me to a romantic dinner, etc.

I think that you need both to have a healthy dating relationship or marriage. I love my husband as a friend but I am also "in love" with him.

well it could be just depends on how much the man could feel, it also depends on what type of romance it is to begin with.
