Guys I need your advice. I chat with a guy online. I have not exactly been honest with my identity and now its too hard to say anything to put it right. If I tell him who I am we will be finished and we both get a lot out of chatting to each other. Apart from my identity I am honest. What do you think I should do. Own up or stop chatting. Thanks

I didnt know him before I met him online. Wow! I was so worried about deceiving him but really its not that big a deal. I will tell him the truth and I will let you all know how it works out. Thanks for your advice. And girls, sorry, not sure why I was just asking the guys this, wanted to know how they would feel if it happened to them. No offence intended.

There is no real reason why hiding your identity would cost you a friendship. Just explain that you wished to hide it in case he turned out to be a stalker. Now that you feel secure, you feel you can be more open with him, as he has put you at ease. That would work on me.

Carry on as you are,if you are never going to meet whats the problem? You both enjoy the chats, which means,on the face of it ,you are compatable. But what would happen if you ever met, would give you both a different reality, not just you.

Honesty is the best policy. But truthfully do you believe he is being honest to you? That is a decision you need to clarify yourself. We never know who is sitting on the other end of your chat, now do we.Be careful and be wise, don't give to much info about yourself or where you live. It's all for your safety.Take care and good luck.

We need a bit more information like what kind of porkies you've been telling!

If you're never going to meet with this fella, don't worry about it. If you think you've got a future in the real world you'll have to come clean before you meet.

As much as the internet is a source of modern "socializing", there is nothing like meeting someone in real life.

If possible, meet up somewhere safe, and see what his reaction is when you tell him the truth.

BE CAREFUL who you meet online, but if you are both adults, behave responsibly.

Sorry, that would just freak me out-it's hard enough getting to know anyone on the Internet, let alone without them deceiving you about such an important matter!

THIS IS ONE OF THE BIG ISSUES WITH ON LINE CHATTING.NOT ALL OF THE TIME PEOPLE TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT THERE IDENTITY.IF YOUR HAPPY ABOUT CHATTING TO THIS PERSON AND YOU ARE GETTING A LOT OUT OF IT I WOULD TELL YOU KEEP ON CHATTING.UNLESS YOU HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS PERSON AND YOU WISH TO MEET UP WITH THEM.IF THIS IS SO AND YOU FEEL YOU CAN TRUST THEM THEN GO AHEAD AND TELL THEM THE TRUTH AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.YOU COULD BE SURPRISED MY BE OT COULD BE THE BEST THING TO DO.THEY MIGHT EVEN ADMIRE YOU MORE FOR IT.BEST OF LUCK EITHER WAY.RGDS.

Crafty does he actually know you and think the on line friend is someone else?
If this little game you played will be over because of a name then he's to shallow to deserve a good friend you should have owned up sooner.
tell him today and see what happens Good luck

Have you thought that he may have told the odd lie to you? It's human nature to expand the truth and embellish it a little, stay cool!
