So I was looking back on questions and answers from the weekend and saw a bunch of people that are still crying foul. I know they got caught at Sonoma, but they were merely testing the waters to see how far NASCAR would let them go. They weren't trying to hide anything, they got caught and had some severe penalties. Now let's move on, what have they done other than that? If you say they cheat, prove it. I think many Hendrick haters just like to discredit HMS and it's drivers. Can't you all just accept that they ARE that good, at least right now. Yes, they have an awesome COT program and have tested more than most teams. That's NOT cheating, just working harder and smarter than the competition. There's a reason Jr is going there, they are the best in the business. You will think what you want but don't cry because your team is not as good this year. There have been much more blatant attempts to gain an unfair advantage from teams other than HMS. GO JIMMIE!!!!

Wow Lex, that's one heck of a conspiracy theory. At least THAT one might have some validity to it.

sawxwoodsy, what they did at Sonoma was very easy to catch and would have been detected prior to Sonoma. It was an area NOT clearly defined in the rules and they wanted to see how far NASCAR would let them push the envelope. Chad Knaus doesn't get paid to follow what everyone else does and sometimes his way of problem solving is not appreciated by the officials but that doesn't mean that everything he has been penalized for was blatant cheating. He's really good at finding things NOT covered by the rules and when NASCAR feels like they've been publicly embarrassed they like to make an example of him.

Great way to put it Stevo! They put more into it, so they get more out of it, plain and simple. I am no Jeff or Jimmie fan, but as we all know, a Jr. fan. I really hope he gets the opportunity he needs to prove himself. With this team, I believe he will. They're kinda like Avis - they "try harder"!
Go Jr.>>>>

I agree with everything you have said, but here is a conspiracy theory, that I have been hearing. Do you think that Teressa made Jr.'s engine blow up during the race? That's a bunch of BS. How can you make an engine give out at a certain time? I mean he even said that during practice he was probably running to many RPMs so that could have worn down the engine. I think that HMS is a great team and everyone is making such a big deal about Jr. going there. Well he didnt get ownership of a company that he should co own with his sister and other siblings, and he doesnt get to have the #8 his famous trademark number and his famous Budweiser sponsor. I think we would all be upset but he is moving on and going to a better team with alot better support, teammates, and equipment. Go Jeff Gordon!!!!

Getting caught once and serving your time is fine and dandy, getting caught multiple times and continuing to do it is a definition of insanity, because each time they do it they are expecting to not get caught. When you do it multiple times, or more than one crew chief in your stable is caught doing it then its obvious you knew it was wrong, especially since the other 2 cars in the Hendricks stable have not been caught cheating, just the two with the most wins. You can call it testing the waters, or that they have a great COT program, reality is they got suspended for doing something that would have given them a competitive advantage over the rest of the field. Seems to me like thats cheating. Now in the back of peoples minds has to be the thought of did they do it before and just not get caught. Chances are high it was just the first time they got caught.

that's a rerun of the previous Protocols of the Elders of Zion trash and the "government by Rothschild" lunacy. anybody who had a first rate extreme college instructor for Public speaking substitute into instructed that those innovations lie on the middle of efficient persuasion. And any Rhodes pupil (which includes Clinton) had to have been uncovered to them in Remedial Debate in England. the problem is the trash that passes for speaking at present. The morons who think of those innovations are portion of a airtight conspiracy in no way heard recordings of William Jennings Bryan, Robert LaFollette, or FDR. They in no way observed "Inherit the Wind" or "Twelve offended adult adult males." they're familiar with the soporifics of Ike and Carter, or fumblemouth Dubya; something functional sounds like a conspiracy to them. Yeah; a Conspiracy of capacity. All Limbaugh is conscious are character assassination, racial fulmination, and advert hominem arguments; thank God our elections are not hung on radio. i ask your self what he'd look like after Teddy or Franklin Roosevelt have been given a carry of him for 2 broadcast minutes--all you will discover could be little bloody tatters. substitute into Reagan this variety of hypnotist, too? do away with what they impute to Obama and you will have Alf Landon or Jimmy Carter, very virtually the appropriate opponent for a pygmy like Rush and his Limburgers.

I personally think Teresa brought back Houdini from exile, where he's been hanging out with James Dean, Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. She had Houdini sneak into the garage and put "Winner B Gone" in Junior's engine. In case this didn't work, she brought back Lee Harvey Oswald, who'd been sitting around sipping mint julips with Richard Nixon behind turn 4 to shoot Junior on the last lap in case he was leading.
I know because the voice said so. Now, back to cleaning my gun.

Amen man.
I don't have much to add to that, you pretty much said it all. Going into the CHASE this weekend, Jimmie is on fire. He was due, and he's cashin' in BIG TIME. I love seein' all the HMS cars runnin' pretty strong rollin' into the CHASE. Gordon slumped a little for those 4 races, but looked pretty good @ Richmond Saturday night. W/ 5 of the CHASE races being C.O.T. races, I think all the HMS boys are lookin' good rollin' into New Hampshire.
I'm pullin' for Gordon to get his 5th though! As much as I like JJ too, I have to pull for the 24 crew. It'd be great to see a 1-2 finish in the standings after the last race in Homestead.

Hmmm, i still think they know something about the COT that the other teams don't. I'm not saying they are cheating, i think they've learned that Nascar will not tolerate that, i'm just saying from the testings that they did do under the "gray" area they found something out!
Go RCR!!!!
Go Jeff Burton!!!!

You got it 100% right, they have put in more testing, have better engineers back in the shop, its all about people, when you have the best people in the business/equipment/testing, you are going to win races & championships... Thats the reason Jr is going there, he wants to be with the best in the business.....Go Dale Jr/HMS in 2008....
